"So, if there is a reasoned response which answers the assertions of the Roman Catholic position you are uninterested, because you have been convinced by one side of the argument...is that correct?"
I don't think there is any response that can overcome the illogic of sola scriptura. Proving that Scripture is the sole rule of faith by referring to Scripture is illogical on its face.

Because some people thrive on being know-it-alls and preaching to others.............oh, and they also like to fight.

"However, we all DO agree that the Bible is the only authority afforded man by God to correctly understand His will."
How sad. Satan must be tickled pink at the success of his sola scriptura deception.

I need to re-phrase that - Asserting that Scripture is the sole rule of faith..."
What about the first 400 years, when Christians had no New Testament? What was their rule of faith? For the Canon was not decided until the Council of Carthage in 397. Without the authority of the Catholic Church, there is no Canon. "I would not believe a word of the Gospel unless moved thereto by the authority of the Church." (St. Augustine) There simply is no other reason to believe Scripture.

"Unfortunately, Christianity has often followed the same tragic road as paganism and Judaism in its tendency to elevate tradition to a position of authority equal to or greater than Scripture."
I could not get past this assertion. Since it was the authority of the Church itself that decided what books would be included in Sacred Scripture (the Canon), this statement is nonsense. The Church had the AUTHORITY, given by Jesus Christ, to make this judgement!

However, I am very impressed with the amount of effort you've put into your deception. With folks like you around I am certain the RCC will be around to continue deceiving their faithful all the way to hell for years to come! Hahahahahahaha

What about the first 400 years, when Christians had no New Testament Do you honestly believe the Christians of the first 4 centuries had no record of the revelation of God? There were Paul's letters circulating, Peter's letters, the Four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John...and on and on.
Later on, consensus was arrived at...but the writings were around for all of that time. The Roman Catholic Church did not originate the "Book" 400 years after Christ.

...all before the existence of the Roman Catholic Church! Thanks for enlightening me! Well, actually....
All "Christian" religions came from people who did not like what the Catholic church taught. Think about it....

PROTESTANTS ALL BELIEVE CHRIST IS PART OF THE TRINITY AND NIETHER THE MORMANS OR JW'S BELIEVE IN HIS DIETY.
HOW DO YOU DRAW A COMPARISON?
Simple. They're all bunk. Sola Scriptura is as doctrinal as the Arianism of the Jehovah's Witnesses and the whatever-it-is of the Mormon Godhead.

Which is why only the authentic Jewish Tradition can interpret the Bible.
I don't get how Jewish Tradition can interpret the New Testament.

Good grief. Is this the part where the Protestants foam at the mouth as is par for the course.

That's a nice way to set the tone for the thread. Congratulations.
This is the second time today I've seen you post something like this. I find it ironic when you post things like "When you look at it like that there is little difference between Catholicism and paganism."
and
"Latest UFO sightings" in response to a post on Eucharistic Miracles in your "humoruous" picture-posting jag.
To: TradicalRC
Hah! That's funny, I referenced this exact same post without even seeing yours.

Discuss the issues all you want, but do NOT make it personal.
To: P-Marlowe
Is this an "open catholic" thread?
Looks to me like an "Open Protestant Bashing Thread"
