wow, good for him.
I get tired of all the liberals saying that morality should not be legislated. A general lack of morality has social costs. Many of the social problems that liberals say we should all be paying to take care of, are the result of poor or lacking morals.
I'll make a deal with all the liberals, I'll stay out of pushing for morality, and you can stay out of my wallet at tax time.
God bless him and the truth he writes.
Liberals are only against legislating morality that they don't agree with. Their whole "social justice" crusade is about legislating morality.
Good point. It's that whole, "be careful what you wish for", thing. Thanks for reminding me.
Very good! From SF, no less. Sts Peter and Paul is in North Beach, in the old Italian section, for those who are not familiar with SF.
A couple of years ago the Orange County Diocese Paper (CA) had a wonderful photo of John Kerry that covevered the entire front page.
"John Kerry - the Catholic Candidate"
was the Title that adorned that free advertising.
Finally, the Catholics may be waking up....and its starting in San Francisco of all places.
Good for him! I wish more would speak out like this.
Freep-mail me to get on or off my pro-life and Catholic Ping List:
Please ping me to all note-worthy Pro-Life or Catholic threads, or other threads of interest.
'God bless him and the truth he writes.'
Yes I agree...I'm so glad Father sent it...
Another favourite of theirs is to say "my conscience tells me it's right and the Church teaches we are answerable to our consciences". I've heard Ms Pelosi go down this route.
Complete rubbish of course and further proof of their ignorance of what the Church actually teaches. The Catholic Catechism says a conscience should be PROPERLY FORMED for one to make decisions based on their "conscience".
If a politician doesn't even know the BASICS (i.e. that abortion is intinsically evil and always wrong thus making the pro-choice stance incompatible with the Catholic one) then obviously their conscience is NOT properly formed and any moral judgements they make according to their "conscience" is flawed.
Yes. A very courageous priest he is! He needs our prayers. I'm sure there are many prelates who would like to send him for Soviet style "re-education".
OUCH boy this not going make madame Speaker happy LOVE this smack chat 101 on Nancy ROFL
WooHoo! Good news for Madame Speaker to ponder.
I doubt she will even read it. I believe the staff will keep it from her. Can you imagine being the staffer that has to take her that note....you never know how punished he or she will be.
And when Nancy Pelosi touched the letter, it burst into flames, coincidence? I think not.
God bless Father Malloy!
Excellent! A man's man who is not afraid to tell the truth.
I'm sure he'll be reassigned by the bishop.
Especially in SF - although perhaps their new bishop is better than I expected him to be. Their last bishops have ranged from awful to indifferent (including, IMHO, Levada).
The question that cannot be answered, without changing a "baby" into a tomato, or something else.
I didnt think I wanted to be a nun, the new House minority leader, Nancy Pelosi, recalled. But I thought I might want to be a priest. There seemed to be a little more power there, a little more discretion over what was going on in the parish.
Good for this priest. However, his request that she not accept Communion is probably pointless. Pro-choice Catholic politicians will accept Communion until forced to do otherwise. Then they will sue for "violation of their first amendment rights." Count on it.
And then on the evangelical side (from which I hail) homosexuals will sue because a church will not marry them.
That argument falls flat on its face when they bring it up. Morality is legislated, how else would we make it legal to kill the unborn?
Some sort of morality had to come into play to come up with that decision!
Please everyone, pray for this good priest. Hell's wrath will descend on him and he needs our prayers for his strength and well being. Remember, he's in the same diocese as that parish that was loaning out the church hall to the gay bingo fundraiser that featured the "sisters of perpetual indulgence"
Pray for him.
I hope he sent CC to his archbishop, the archbishop of Washington, DC, and all those bishops who are trying to "pastor" Speaker Pelosi instead of telling her she is dead wrong.
That sentence right there speaks volumes and says it all.
Wow. That is wonderful! But I do wonder how much trouble this priest will be in now....
I praying for him now
I guess open condemnation by a priest is a start. When is the upper management going to kick in and just remove these abortion supporters and all that allow them to continue in their congregations from the RCC?
I was promised that the new Pope was just about to do SOMETHING just after he first stepped into the See, but it has been nearly two years and no action has been taken. Whyzzat? This should be an easy thing to show to be inspired, the condemnation of all that support this Herodian infanticide.
Please don't tell me this is because its just political posturing from the head of the self-proclaimed Only True Church!?!
I don't think any Catholic laity can answer. I agree about the slowness and what looks like a political situation by the bishops.
The only way one can view the problem is if one is active in the pro-life movement, which I am. A problem I see is that all denominations are at fault and in most cases if it were not for the Catholic Church there would be no effort at all.
There are 144 churches in the two counties my group works in and the only response we have had in 3 years is from the Catholic Church and two Evangelical churches. We even had clergy who have told us that his/her church was not a "pro-life church". To me that is an abomination and certainly a non-Christ Church posing as a Christian Church.
There is evil in all churches and they should be all condemned.
Thank you Franky!! Now we should paste this letter and send it to Ted "Breast Stroke" Kennedy, John Kerry, Pat Leahy, et al. I also think this should go to their Bishops and Cardinals.
SF priest tells Nancy she shouldn't go to communion because of her pro-abortion politics. Wow.
I agree. He needs all the spiritual protection he can get.
They are so perverse they want to kill the babies but save the murderers. They are morally opposed to capital punishment. What sense does that make?
My Missouri Synod Lutheran Church has a very active Lutherans for Life Chapter. We have sponsored a full-sized pro-life billboard for years. We also help a home for pregnant girls.
Have you read this article by Rev. Lamb from Lutherans for Life? http://www.lutheransforlife.org/Life_Issue_Info/Abortion/is_abortion_an_election_issue.htm
I am also LCMS.
If you can kill a baby in the womb, Nancy, why not outside of it?
The question that cannot be answered, without changing a "baby" into a tomato, or something else
I'm from Minnesota and we had a case in the news last week of 2nd degree murder for the murder of an unborn 12 week baby. The father beat the mother badly and she lost the child unfortunately. I found the extreme irony so sad that he was going to be charged for 2nd degree murder (and absolutely rightly so thankfully - honestly I was shocked they charged him with this) yet millions of women every year do the same thing to their unborn children and they are applauded for being "in control of their bodies".
What a sad world we live in when society is ok with allowing one to be murder and the other isn't.
Abortion is not a convenient solution to an unplanned inconvenience, it's murder!! Ugh...
Even my wife who tends to be a democratic supporter in general understands that abortion is completely a horrible thing. Pray more people do as well.
I'm Wisconsin Lutheran...we're right there with ya...it's refreshing to see Lutheran churches who have their eyes on what pleases God rather than what pleases man...I thank God every time I attend service for the blessing of a church who focuses on Him and His Glory rather than what makes us good...Keep the faith, end abortion now!!!
My wife and I were just there last month, it is a beautiful church...It defintely stood out, particularly in S.F. It made me feel God's prescence quite distinctly as it was towering over the area and reminded all who saw the church that He is Lord of all...
From what I understand, Wisconsin Synod is as conservative or even more so than Missouri Synod. Is that right?
he'd better watch his back.
