IIRC, it’s fairly common for every individual American to significantly influence 1,000 people in their daily lives directly and/or indirectly. And how seemingly ignorantly or care-lessly of that we live far too often.
The "Six Degrees of Separation" thing really magnifies that ... One individual's behaviour affects the whole world.
"No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bells tolls; it tolls for thee."
-John Donne
Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
-St. Paul (Romans 12:4-5)

Good point. We don't know how what we say may be interpreted by others, or how it may wound them.
