VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - The Vatican said on Tuesday Christian denominations outside Roman Catholicism were not full churches of Jesus Christ.
Protestant leaders said this was offensive and would hurt inter-religious dialogue.
A 16-page document by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, which Pope Benedict once headed, described Christian Orthodox churches as true churches, but suffering from a "wound" since they do not recognize the primacy of Pope.
But the document said the "wound is still more profound" in Protestant denominations.
"Despite the fact that this teaching has created no little distress ... it is nevertheless difficult to see how the title of 'Church' could possibly be attributed to them," it said.

I read it as being directed to the SSPX, with respect to the renewed Latin mass. The motu propio was a little carrot, this is a little stick.
Interesting. So what am I to do? We’ve established I cannot take communion in the Catholic Church. I’ve had communion before when I was a Baptist, and I’m not sure Christ meant that we needed to perform the rite all the time.

Notice that St. Paul does not prohibit taking Holy Communion alone.

The dictionary says about “venerate”: “venerate - regard with feelings of respect and reverence; consider hallowed or exalted or be in awe of; “Fear God as your father”. Synonyms: revere, worship, venerate, adore, idolize”
Want to stand by what you said? It confirms what the other protestants have said about Roman Catholicism.

What are you then to do? Conform yourself to the teachings of the Church regarding her Bridegroom.
Fundamentally, the whole argument comes down to one of authority. For many Protestants, they see the Bible as the ultimate authority neglecting to note that there was no New Testament Bible for the early Church. The early Church had the traditions they brought with them (2 Thess 3:6). God has not been silent for the last 2000 years, He has been guiding His Church as Jesus promised (John 14:16). The Apostles weren't a bunch of splinter cells, they were one Church with one Gospel who gathered together to iron out disputes (Acts 15). This is the model we follow and it is far more Biblical than the alternatives.

We reject a bunch of stuff that Rome started teaching & doing after that, because it is Christ's Church, not Rome's.

I just get tired of people, and it’s usually the other side that indulges themselves in this, asserting that when person A makes a statement, any statement, about their beliefs that somehow A has imposed law upon them or beaten them with a stick or something.
For instance, a pastor reads the Bible about homosexuals and the gay lobby gets incensed as if the pastor had personally marched into a gay bar and burned it down (or in Canada, they get the pastor arrested).
This is the “no dogma allowed” approach, and the people who champion this form of repression of speech are very dogmatic about it. :)
