‘He became one in later life and died as one, yes.’

No, Darwin was never an atheist. He studied at Cambridge to become a clergyman and was totally convinced by William Paleys arguments that design in nature proved the existance of God. It was only later, on The Beagle that he observed things which led him to doubt those arguments. When asked about his religious views, he wrote that he had never been an atheist in the sense of denying the existence of a God, and that generally “an Agnostic would be the more correct description of my state of mind”.

Principles, premises, assumptions, same intended meaning on my part.

First you tried to tell me it's not a "premise", it's just based on "principles". Now you're telling me it's all the same. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

“Hey, Orel. What answer did you get for #3 on the science test?”

“Jesus.”

Gotta love those "Pearly Gates" jokes...

Above, Col. Sanders begins to grow concerned...

Sorry, this cropped version is all I can find of this particular Far Side cartoon (with all due thanks to Gary Larson).

Creationism and evolution are NOT mutually exclusive.

Agreed. God is Truth. We have nothing to fear from science or any honest inquiry.

Your slip is showing. Lacking in Bible Doctrine is evident. When you die, God is not going to ask you if you were a good person, did you go to church, did you love your neighbor or any of those questions. He is going to ask you, What did you do with MY SON who died on that cross for your sins??? Bottom line, doing good is not the ticket. Believing in the Lord is the only way.

I am amazed every time a Christian slips and falls and others criticize him and think he has lost his salvation. Not biblical, you can not lose your salvation, period. (if you truly believe and had it in the first place) If you don't believe what I say here, look it up, it's all there in the Word.

In the video, Darwin doesn’t come to his senses. It’s more subtle than that.

Maybe so.

Somehow I think it might be a quite different matter to some if it was a "light comedy" video intended to make fun of religion.

but I betcha it’s about Darwin coming to his senses and recanting
on his death bed. In the end he recanted his pseudo theory
of evolution, you know.

I'm no expert...but I think the "death-bed recantation" of Darwin
is a debatable point.
Some Darwin "experts" say he didn't...some say he did.

BUT...the folks that uncritically worship at The Church of Darwin
do get very, very upset when some of Darwin's actual human attributes
are mentioned:

1. his dedicated membership/contributions to a Christian missionary society
2. his less-than-enlightened views on the value of the female of
the human species
AND (and not inclusively)
3. his stated criteria about complexity (that give substantial ammo
to folks like Michael Behe and other "intelligent design" proponents).

“Your two statements are contradictory.”

Only to those delusional enough to think that Darwinism is science instead of religion.

“You weren’t hinting that evolutionary biologists would be turned away at the gates of Heaven?”

I was making no judgment at all, just stating what I believe to be fact — Darwinists will “have some ‘splainin to do.”

Your slip is showing.

I'm not a girl, so spare me your sexist quips.

When you die, God is not going to ask you if you were a good person, did you go to church, did you love your neighbor or any of those questions. He is going to ask you, What did you do with MY SON who died on that cross for your sins??? Bottom line, doing good is not the ticket. Believing in the Lord is the only way.

I do believe in Jesus. So you don't share the other poster's opinion that evolutionary biologists will be sent down the chute to hell?

Darwinian evolutionary theory is science. Christianity is my religion.
