Does the Russian Orthodox Church not like an independent Estonian Church or an independent Estonia? I get the feeling that Czar Vladimir (Putin) and his machinations to restore Russia’a imperial greatness may have something to do with this.
The ROC hates the idea of an independent Estonian of Ukrainian church. Hates it.
The Interfax news service reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke today of the relationship between Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants at the Petersburg Dialogue forum in Wiesbaden, Germany.
“The Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant Churches have certain differences, yet, as far as I understood from meetings with the Pontiff and our patriarch, they think alike on fundamental issues and values,” he said. “I did not see any difference in their attitudes to Christian and moral values. That is the foundation for debates.”
Ptuin (The Communist State) still controls the church — the Russian Church still fears Putin (The Communist State) and losing its property.
The Russian Church would rather have their finite property and accept Putin (The Communist State) as their leader rather than accept one leader for the whole Church namely ——the Pope.
This saga reminds me of the biblical story of the man who built a larger silo to store all his grain and thought all was well. Unfortunately for him, the night his extra storage space was finished — he died.
