FINNEY ENDORSES HUCKABEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1/14/08 | ALPHA-8-25-02

Given pundits and candidates freelance use of affiliation of certain persons too identify thier positions with I felt a endorsement with a well known evangelical was necessary.

Recently I read the following quotes from mike huckabee:

As a preacher and a politician, Mr. Huckabee said in an interview, he has pursued the same goal: improving lives. “For me it was never an either or,” he said of his dual careers. “The realm you do it in is less important than that you do it.” And winning souls trained him to win votes. “There are four basic things to succeed in either politics or the pastorate,” Mr. Huckabee said. “You have to have a message. Secondly, you have to motivate volunteers. You have to be able to understand and work with all types of medium to get your message out,” he continued, “and you’ve got to raise money.”

The deafening lack of endorsement from either the Lakewood or Saddleback churches and my personal observations of the effect of his ministry makes me believe that Mr. Finney would have strongly endorsed Mike Huckabee for president.

Please tell all the evangelical followers of pastor mike to proudly show off their FINNEY FOR HUCKABEE posters and bumper stickers.

Thankyou, Alpha

I don't know Charles Finney from Jack Squat. But I suppose this is what you want us to know about him.

That Sounds Exactly Like Something Finney would Say!! Great Thread, my Brother in Christ!

(On Another Note, those 1000 Pardons Huckabee Issued to Murderers is One of the Things about him that Also Infuriates me!)

If you are a conservative, you MUST READ THIS before you vote for Huckabee. He is NOT a conservative and is bad news:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1953093/posts?page=361#290
1) Governor Huckabee did lasting damage to the Republican Party and conservative movement in Arkansas.
2) Governor Huckabee’s non-stop clemencies continually hindered the work of criminal prosecutors and miffed Republicans. The numbers are staggering - over 1,000 clemencies and commutations of criminals as governor.
3) Governor Huckabee’s pattern was to ignore immigration laws, often in the name of Christianity.
4) Governor Huckabee was no friend to fiscal conservatives in Arkansas.
5) Huckabee left a long trail of ethics questions while Governor of Arkansas
6) Huckabee’s education record shows him to be an advocate of the “status quo” - got NEA endorsement, anti-vouchers
7) Huckabee has very little support for his Presidential bid here in Arkansas - For the most part those in his party who know him best are not supporting him.

Mike’s tax-and-spend record exposed:
http://taxhikemike.org
Huckster’s tax hikes:
* Signed a sales tax hike in 1996 (Cato Policy Analysis No. 315, 09/03/98).
* Supported an internet sales tax in 2001 (Reuters, 02/23/04).
* Publicly opposed the repeal of a sales tax on groceries and medicine in 2002 (Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, 09/11/02).
* Signed a gas tax in 1999 (Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, 06/29/99)
* Signed cigarette tax hike in 2003 (Americans for Tax Reform 01/07/07)
* Signed a bed tax on private nursing home patients in 2001 (Associated Press 06/29/01).
* Proposed a sales take hike in 2002 (Arkansas News Bureau 12/05/02).
* Opposed a congressional measure to ban internet taxes in 2003 (Arkansas News Bureau 11/21/03).
* Allowed a 17% sales tax increase to become law in 2004 (The Gurdon Times 03/02/04).

Huckabee caught lying about his tax hikes:

Endorsed a federal smoking ban.
Endorsed by the New Hampshire Teacher’s Union, NEA and IAM.
Championed In-State Tuition and Tax-Payer Funded Scholarships for Illegal Immigrants
Huckabee: Bush Administration has an “Arrogant Bunker Mentality”

Huckabee supported Democrats against Republicans:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1952701/posts
Huckabee worked to defeat a Republican, in a legislative race in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Huckabee helped Democrat Benny Magness in his race against Republican Shawn Womack. Womack won.

In 2002, he supported Rep. Bobby Glover, D, over Rep. Randy Minton, R, in a state senate race.

What Huckabee did after his son killed a dog:
“Governor Huckabee’s chief of staff and personal lawyer both leaned on him to write a letter officially denying the local prosecutor’s request. Bailey, a career officer who had been appointed chief by Huckabee’s Democratic predecessor, said he viewed the lawyer’s intervention as improper and terminated the conversation. Seven months later, he was called into Huckabee’s office and fired.” ....

Back when the Mormons were all astir (when they thought they had a viable candidate) I kept trying to explain to them that Mitt’s religion wouldn’t impact my vote, since his opponents weren’t really much better theologically than he was. Fred’s an inactive member of the Church of Christ cult; Rudy’s one of those pro-abortion Papists; Huck’s a Dispy. McCain either an Episcopalian (and we know about them) or a Baptist like Huck.

Now why wouldn’t that good Calvinist type from Mississippi run. The best we can hope for is to have Haley on the ticket as Veep.

That is funny.

Unless Huck gets the nomination, the South will be shut out this election. It will be interesting to see a non-southerner in the White House again....Let me see, the last President to be non-southern was...RONALD REAGAN!!! Let’s hope another non-southern will turn out as good.
