and John 1:14 incarnated it for us. fleshed it out, as it were.

And on this very board,
if the US verion of a second coming of Maggie Thatcher were running in this election.

This wouldn’t even be a discussion, we’d be too busy cheering.

Galatians 3:28

There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

DOES THIS PASSAGE ESCAPE THE EYE OF MISOGYNISTS?

"God would not have established “judges” 1st, and “given in” to wishes for 1 ruler."

Yes, dogs do return to their vomit, don't they. Many are set free and can't handle it. Need to be back in prison. No stomach for self-rule or self-responsibility.

There is only one mediator between man and God. Man's rule, divine or not, failed to qualify. Churches try and attempt to qualify, but also fail. But now we have one who never fails. One who the ancients were not ready to accept except for very few.

So there are still remnants of the old ways in other countries and governments. That would be the place to go and live if they can't stand the stress and responsibilities of Citizenship in the U.S. and would rather have 'that which is in the world' rule them rather than the greater One who is within.

Romans 13:1

1Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.

Hmmmm. Seems that God has had women rule nations before now, and they were therefore established by God.

“and women shall rule over them”

Are we discussing rulers such as Prime Minister Thatcher or the HillaBeast attempting to rule us?

all “scripture”, represents the human letter of the law, not the underlying, greater and inspired spirit of the law, and as such is always mostly valid in its own context, a context which must be acknowledged as NOT universal but time and culture specific - as such it must be (1) only a guide (2)which must be explored by prayerfully seeking the greater - universal, non-contextual - spirit of the law that inspired it

Many liberal churches use this canard to say abortion is ok . . .

Modern day abortion is the same as the ancient world's sacrifice of children to Molech, the pagan god.

I know nothing of ancient sacrifice, but like any other subject, that's not going to stop me from posting.

In reality, isn't modern day abortion worse? Wasn't pagan child sacrifice giving up something great in order to appease a higher being and thus bring overall good to the community? Giving up something of value to help all? Compare that to abortion, which devalues what is sacrificed, and it's done to avoid inconvenience to an individual? Your post just got me thinking; it won't happen again...

God's gonna put/allow whomever He desires to be in control.

"Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck. For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another." Psalms 75:5-7, KJV

"Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:" Daniel 2:20-21, KJV

"This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men." Daniel 4:17, KJV

"...Doesn't your church use 1 Timothy 2:12..."

1 Timothy 2:11-12
Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.

Wow, I'm going to incorporate that into my wedding vows. Awesome!

Gen.2:16

[18] And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

Both are equally mportant but they have different roles and temperments.

1Pet.3:7

[7] Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

I know ... today it’s okay for MEN to stay home with the kiddies and WOMEN to go off to war.

In the old days a kid would beat the crap out of you if you said his Mom worse Army boots. Now, it’s considered “cool” and you’re expected to be indifferent.

It’s intersting that when God’s church and positions described indicating leadership and authority for Christians, they are all MALE positions:

1Tim.3:1-

[1] This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

[2] A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

[3] Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

[4] One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

[5] (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

[6] Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

[7] Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

[8] Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

[9] Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

[10] And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.

[11] Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

[12] Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

[13] For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

He’s pretty clear on the roles He wants for his church on earth. They can be married. They have to be followers of Him.

Yes, the secular world doesn’t see it that way.
SO what else is new? It certainly doesn’t amke it correct in God’s eyes what the secualr world does.

In fact,

Rom.12:2

[2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

It’s easier to be “conformed” to this world and fight any transformation that would make you acceptable and do the perfect will of God. God is not popular today and neither are His teachings.

Whatever view He has, it doesn’t pertain to America, for ours is a Constitutional Republic under self-rule. Our nation is the people. Our government and political system is not our nation or our ruler, but is a protector of our aggregate and individual rights.

If it fails to do that, then we have a three-tiered ruler, but still not any one individual.

What is the test of that? The test is that we gave ourselves the right to start over, no matter what it takes if our government no longer takes orders from the people but instead becomes a slovenly, reckless, and usurping servant who steals from his Master.

And that reminds me, it’s my observation that we are getting extremely close to that time. Anyone else agree?

Interesting but disturbing answer.

God is above a man made document. God is perfection.

When determining whose will to follow, I would highly recommend God’s will.

“God will set up a Godly woman, ala Deborah, if Godly men refuse to step up to the plate.”

We have oodles of ungodly men ... just look at how many “men” send their wives to war and stay home with the kiddies? Look at how many let the wife work and stay home with the kiddies? This is not what God had in mind. Today there is NO SHAME about this. In fact, it is exalted because it rebels against the proper roles of men and women. Kudos for those good Christian men that still perform their godly roles properly.
