I believe God promises to protect his people, but that can be done without leaving the world. The plagues were upon Egypt while Israel was still there. They survived the death angel because they obeyed the Lord when he told them they would be spared by putting the blood of the passover lamb on their lintels.

To Daniel, much of what he saw was prophecy. To us, now, it’s history. We already know what happened to his prophecies historically with the four kingdoms, etc. But there are some prophecies yet unfulfilled which I think we will see in our lifetime.
