Okay. So why concentrate on the “false” teachings of fellow Christians when there are a growing number of Islamists? For the life of me, I will never understand why so many non-Catholics have to take so many shots at the Catholics.

Modern Catholics don't generally cut your head off when you disagree with them

“For the life of me, I will never understand why so many non-Catholics have to take so many shots at the Catholics.”

It’s a “born again” fervent evangelical thing: “Ah must speak THE TROOOOOOTH!” (especially if it means bashing Cath-oe-lics)

I was raised by two atheists, was “born again” for 25 years and grew tired of the “I’m-a-better-Christian-and-everyone-else-is-going-to-hell” attitude. Catholic-bashers spend spend 75% of their time condemning others and never shut up about their “personal testimonies.”

Catholic-bashing Christians would win many more souls if they did what St. Francis said: “Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words.”

ditto!

It is a mystery why some of these folks seem to have nothing to do, but findfault with a neightbor who has so much in common, they seem to look for things to divide instead of uniting.

It cuts both ways, but you're right. It is a shame. We can disagree on doctrinal issues, but it often gets very ugly. Shouldn't be that way.

Because we care about them and want to rescue them from error that could cost them their salvation.

Were you wanting answers to your questions?

Did you read the article to see if, perhaps, it provided them?

Who knows... Some of these people are positively obsessed about it. Then they get upset and even more prolific in their posts when it dawns on them that Catholics really don't care about them or their complaint du jour.

Seriously Al. You've been around long enough to know the score is pretty much even.

Because when you're the big dog, all the little dogs want a piece of you. It's a latent inferiority complex for many. They can't help themselves.

Fact: Protestantism has been around for over 500 years, and yet the Catholic Church is still by far the largest Christian Church in the world--and growing by leaps and bounds among the largest groups of non-evangelized peoples left in the world in Asia and Africa. Meanwhile, "evangelical" protestantism focuses it's efforts on poorly educated Catholics in Latin America. Where in Scripture does it say: "Go forth to other Christians who have already heard My name and make of them members of your own peculiar sect"?

Amen. I am not catholic, however the only criteria to heaven is to repent, believe in Jesus as Messiah and be born again. He taught Baptism, and I believe the Catholics are in agreement with those things. God does not care about man’s theology, or his bickering.
I am amazed at how humans play God in deciding whose going to heaven and who’s not.
Yes, there are enough nutcases who have a whole other religion that rejects Jesus and embraces dead men, and wants to destroy Gods chosen people and Israel. Let’s focus on the real enemies.

They take shots at the Catholics because they are the largest and most successful Christian church on the planet... You have to lump all protestant congregations together to outsize the Catholic church in the US, and even all lumped together they don’t remotely come close to the Catholic Church in terms of size and influence.

Anti Catholic hatred and attacks have been going on for as long as long as the church has existed, and with the exception of the Coptics and a few others, all other “Christian” churches trace their roots directly to the Roman Catholic church. So their’s a bit of politico dynamic out of that as well.

I will try to make this as simple as possible. The body of Christ believes the Holy Bible is truth and that those who trust their church and disregard the doctrines of the Holy Bible are practicing heresies and therefore may not be saved by grace through faith only.
Saved Christians beleve the Bible of Christ, unsaved Christians beleive the church or denomination they attend saves them and therefore heresies grow and grow until the Lord Jesus returns at the end of the seven year tribulation to begin HIS government over the whole earth as King. The church can not do this , only God’s son Jesus Christ. Search the scriptures for the truth and disregard all other lies, if you will.
