Simply because an early Church council decided that certain books should be included and certain books excluded in no way settles the issue.

By the same logic, neither would the judgment of "those who compiled the Protestant Bible." Nor, without a divinely guided visible and hierarchical church, could anyone's judgment on what should be considered Scripture. Thus the theory of sola scriptura falters on the basic question of what is Scripture in the first place.

Which verse of Scripture prescribes a self-perpetuating visible and hierarchical church?
What makes you think that a “visible and hierarchical church” is any more divinely guided than a group of individuals inspired and guided by the Holy Spirit

HOGWASH.

God has persistently confirmed HIS WORD

with signs following

amongst those who are broken, of contrite heart before Him . . . willing to stand before Him clothed ‘only’ in CHRIST’S RIGHTEOUSNESS

with none of the hoopla and accoutraments of the professional RELIGIOUS politicians of the Roman magicsterical.

Shoot—God even confirms with signs following in small groups of Charismatic Roman believers.

Pretty Gracious of Him, imho.
