Will you renounce Paul for being a sexist? Will you renounce Peter for being racist, even after he was commanded to take the Gospel to all people, he still didn’t for a long time.
Again, men are men, and prophets are human. When you come to understand that, you will know that the Lord works through men, despite their frailties.
Only one was perfect. And it wasn’t you.
That comparison is twisted. How dare you try to paint Peter and Paul as racists in order to justify the vile things said by Brigham Young's about blacks.
Would you really like for me to post THIS ARTICLE on an OPEN THREAD?
If not, then please don't try to equate Paul and Peter with that False Prophet Brigham Young.
How can you not see the comparison? I didn’t say Paul was racist, I said he was sexist. Don’t twist my words. Peter and the rest of the 12 were commanded to take the gospel to all nations, but he didn’t and needed reminding from the Lord in a vision to get him to take it to the Gentiles. Even then, the other apostles, who had also been commanded to take the gospel to all nations, didn’t believe him. Do I consider these men racist? No. Do I think they were men first, yes. Do I think BY was a man first? Yes.
Here comes the brigade. Shall I call out the Calvary myself? To what end? Just for fun? OK, against my better judgement, I will. Sorry all, I know this is childish. I guess I’m in one of those moods tonight. Someone slap me!
1 Corinthians 14.
34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
Paul a sexist???? That is remarkable. Yes, he wanted cultural norms followed where appropriate (the old keeping quite argument), he was also in the forefront of women leadership, openly praising Lydia, Phoebe as an official appointeea deaconess. Pauls phrase, our sister”, he used Priscilla to play a major role in discipling/teaching the gifted Apollos. Women were obviously allowed to prophesy in church and women were obviously allowed to pray audibly in church. Also Ga 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus, the man not required to bring the wife to the other side with him.
See previous posts.
Thanks.
Romans 16:1-4 (KJV) I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: 2 That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also. 3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: 4 Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.
Paul
Try looking in the Bible.
It's been pointed out to you SO many times; do I have to do it again?
In front of all these lurkers?
Dang!!
I thought we ANTI's had the job of pointing out the many places that Joseph Smith had copied from the bible!
Or a PROPHET of the KKK!
Didn't he say all those things BEFORE the KKK appeared?
WE have the ball.
YOU are playing defense.

You really should see post #58
Once again, sevenbak failed to credit his source.

So if prophets are fallible, seven, is it possible that Joseph Smith was in error concerning polygamy? Is it possible he was in error concerning his “vision?”
Thanks for posting that entire address. I hope all read it.
Yes, prophets are infallible. Were they men? Yes. But doctrine of the church is not in error, so no, that is not possible. God allows men their free agency, but he doesn’t let them lead the church astray. See the post you are referencing to about the Lord intervening in ancient times to make sure his servants didn’t do just that.
Cheers.
Off to work, have a great day Color.
In every instance above, the Prophets you listed TRIED, and REPENTED when they had fallen short. Each instance
Joseph Smith and Brigham Young NEVER ADMITTED ANY WRONG DOING !! They lied, stole, cheated, and even killed to cover up and prevent the consequences for their actions. NEVER DID THEY, EVER SAY "I was wrong, I'm sorry". Theirs were lives of abused power and entitlement.
You have cast stones today at the greatest men to walk short only of Christ, and this issue will be revisited in the afterlife I am sure.
"I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet...When they can get rid of me, the devil will also go."-Joseph Smith (History of the Church, Vol. 6, p. 408, 409)
Which leads me to repost one of my favorite lines.
Mormons claim that all other churches are lead by men who speak as men, but theirs is lead by “Prophets” (who speak as men)
The only difference seven, is the title. I can go stand out in my garage and call myself a car, but it doesn’t make me a car.
You too have a nice day. It is a glorious day in Utah.
