Non-Denominational Devotional/Prayer
For some time, through FReepmail, several FReepers have provided each other with a way to share prayer requests and praises. Now that the Non-denominational category has been established at Freerepublic, we are offering a weekly thread in which posts of your requests and praises are welcome. Anyone, regardless of denomination, is welcome to bring their concerns here. The one thing that we hope to establish here, is that at a set time on Sunday evening, 11:00 p.m. in the Eastern time zone, 10:00 p.m. Central time, 9:00 p.m. Mountain time, and 8:00 p.m. Pacific time, we will as a group, lift these concerns up in prayer. Individual prayer at any time is, of course, encouraged. If anyone desires to post an "anonymous" request, just word it in a manner such as: " Please lift up my prayer (or praise) for a personal concern."
He has promised to be in our midst tonight as we gather wherever we may be, as a voice in one accord, to praise Him and ask on behalf of others for His Grace to be granted to them.
Tonight’s gathering for prayer is going to be dedicated to speaking as one in beseeching our Lord to confuse the lying enemies of the American Republic, to confound the efforts of these lying enemies within the nation who are seeking to indenture the American people to the debt being posed falsely as ‘the only way' to save the nation’s financial future, and to bless opposition congressional representatives and Governor Sarah Palin with the divine wisdom need to squelch lies coming from the evil one now speaking through too many elected representatives.
This thread may be the last prayer gathering thread due to lack of participation. I pray we will have a large gathering tonight wherever you may be, for our Lord has promised to be in our midst when we meet in His name.

If it means enough to me, I find I can remember ... and I usually print the prayer requests out to remind myself so I’m ‘on the same page’ with fellow gathers in prayer.

Although I don’t post here at the times of prayer (CFIDS makes me go to bed early) I appreciate being part of all Christians here who love this country and want the best for her.
We know God and His Son, Jesus Christ, will answer our prayers, but we must never set a time limit. At times, that is difficult for me, because I want to stop the slander from the Left “RIGHT NOW!”
Even if I’m not here in person, I’m here in spirit, and I want to say now that Jesus Christ will bless us all in our efforts, even if its only “two or three gathered in” His Name.
Prayer is a powerful thing, and I will continue to pray for the bravery of our representatives all over the world, the courage of young men and women who volunteer to fight tyranny, and for the wisdom of our elected officials to do the right things at the right times.
These things I say in Jesus’ name. Amen
Please, continue to post this thread. I think it is vital, and I think also that it will become a haven as the weeks go on towards the election. We need to be cohesive in our prayerful efforts.

I’m in. Only the good Lord Almighty can save this country from the Uhbama and the devil’s minions known as the Democrats and the media. I have never seen such a tidal wave of deceit (old ugly’s calling card) and evil, directed at defeating all that is good and right (ok, not since nearly 2000 years ago). My He have mercy on us and bless the USA once more.

The director of the democrat party is the father of lies, a murderer from the start. If anyone doubts it, look at the democrat party using the slaughter of alive unborn (and forced premature birthed born children) as a means to empower their political capital. Until the Lord returns to end the age, Evil always has a presence, even in a Godly Church. we are to resist evil, He will defeat it. By praying that His SPirit confuse the enemy and confound their leis, we trun the battle over to the ultimate winner, He will deal with them, and win, rather than put it all on us to win the day. We cannot of our own efforts defeat demonic brilliance. And we are witnessing demonic brilliance spewing lies straight from the mouths of democrats smiling on the television. Never before int he history of the species has the spectacle been visible at such a level as today. But the Truth will also be so fully seen. Let us pray His Truth will be champion in our land.
I join you and the others in prayer - for our nation tonight - God is in control, no matter who stark it looks for our country. HE is still on the throne and our nation as all nations stand before Him and kneel to HIS authority.
I am praying that as judgement comes on this country, that He will remember His mercy. We know that His love for us is unfailing - even when we have gone so far astray as a nation. He seeks us. Read Psalm 107 - I have done this today. God’s abundant love and mercy and grace goes out to nations even in the midst of the worst rebellion we can commit.

My post is late, as I was with my small group, but my prayers have not stopped this weekend.

Lord, at this point I don’t know how to pray except Your Will be done. I’m not smart enough, nor do I know the beginning from the end. My life and the life of this nation is in Your Hands, and, we pray that You will bring this nation back to You. Father we love you and ask that the request brought tonight be answered according to Your Will, for that way is always best in the long run.
We hold NO confidence in the men and women in Washington, but throw ourselves on Your mercy and ask that you rescue us from ourselves. Bind the enemy and his work over Washington and our lives, and for this we will give You the praise for the victory.

My best to you all, and I would like to add to the prayer list:
My brother was sent to VA for work and is now on his way to NJ to pick up a long-time friend he met on the Internet. My brother is rushing up there and then rushing back to VA this evening because his friend and friend’s children are about to be put on the curbside, literally and no joking around - late on the rent.
This friend has two small children, one aged 3 years and the other aged 8 months, to bring to and to bless my home and family with, and for me to see after while he, their father, is taught the skill of welding to be able to better provide for them.
His name is Rich, and I ask that you all include my brother, Dan, and Rich and his children in your prayers, that God keep them safe on the road, and see that those children arrive safely in my arms for care while their Dad earns a living for them.
That their Dad be blessed in his caring for and raising these precious children; and that I may be a blessing to the children while they are in my care. That I do my best for Our Lord and for them, and raise them strong in Our Lord for the short while they are in my care.
MHG, PLEASE, keep this thread going every Sunday. Please! People like me may not always post but do come to it for comfort. Please.

Prayer going up for your father's strength ... he's a man standing up for what he believes to be right, sustaining the very jobs the strikers are endangering. We pray for your father's strength and that God's Spirit will enter into the situation to bring wisdom to those negotiating terms and conditions. Now is not the time for labor to be biting the hand that makes jobs available to sustain households, nor the time for management to exploit workers.
Prayer going up for Birmingham Rain, to give her the strength and love needed in bringing in the little ones to share her love and caring. She will be a blessing to the little ones and they will in turn be a conduit for God's love to flow to her. Doing the Lord's work, is how my grandmother Galloway use to put it. He empowers us when we seek to do work for His glory, to allow His love to flow to others.
Prayers up for greyfoxx39 and her family. The Lord knows the needs and is the source of love to bring peace between couples.
And thank you all for joining together tonight in His name. Having Him in our presence, knowing He keeps His promises, is calming. We know Whom is Lord. We offer this nation to Him and bow our knee to humble ourselves bfore Him. 'Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not unto your own understanding, and He will direct your paths.'
I look forward with eager anticipation to see what The Lord will do in the coming days. He will confound those who scheme to tell lies, and confound their efforts to assassinate the character of good men and women. His wisdom wil bring a shine to the Truth of His Way when our leaders seek His face and serve His Truth.
Thanks be to God for His Peace which comes with trusting in Him to be The Deliverer of His people. For we know that ALL THINGS, not some, not a few, but all things work together for good to them that love God, to those called according to His purposes. Governor Sarah Palin and Senator John McCain as pro-life public servants are called according to His purposes.
We know this because we know a man who defended the killing by neglect of alive prematurely born children cannot be in God's purpose, for he serves evil in the workings.
We know that the democrat party cannot be called according to His purposes because they have been empowering their political capital through promotion of the slaughter of alive unborn children for decades.
Lord open their eyes to see the evil they are serving, and turn them from their wickedness, to protect the precious little ones. Lord confuse the tongues of those who purpose to lie for their political empowerment, and confound their designs to rule our land by their wick intentions.
Thank you, Lord. We turn to You as our Soter, our Deliverer.

Maybe on the day/evening of Sarah’s VP debate, you could post a prayer thread in the Chat forum. Will be good to have lots of folks praying for her that entire day and during the debate, and more people view the Chat threads than this area, it seems like.
