Luther's reforms were of a spiritual nature and about the freedom that all Christians have. The church did not want to acknowledge this and made every attempt to stifle him. At the time of Luther, the church did not want to reform, even though there were pockets of Luther sympathizers, such as Erasmus.
Joseph Smith, David Korish and even the muslim's believe they were following God's will as well.
Thanks for putting all protestants in the same bucket with these people who clearly were at odds with the Bible.
We know there can only be one truth though, not many opposite of it with various beliefs
There is only one truth. John 3:16 pretty much sums it up for me.
I wish you a blessed day

And, some things are too precious to cast into the mud.

In my 61 years of experience so far . . .
there are a range of some types of miracles that God has NOT graced me with the anointing to be an agent for.
That level of miracle on that issue appears to be one of them.

Sad, really. Still, we must try.
But of course when it comes to Genesis suddenly the Bible ceases to say what it means and must be subjected to the critique of atheist scientists. Even the testimony of the church fathers is dismissed because "they didn't know then what we know now."
Say what you will about Protestantism, and it certainly has its problems (I am not Protestant), but Catholicism has been totally taken over by evolution and higher criticism. Most Catholic FReepers, even the "traditionalists," usually turn out to be evolutionists and apologists of "higher criticism."
bumpus ad summum
Valid points, imho
Here we are just on the verge of race riots and a possible race war, and you want to start a religious war on top of it all...
Thanks for playing.

FEAR NOT is repeated often in Scripture.

I’m beginning to feel much more excited than fearful.
PRAISE GOD, He appears to be answering my prayers about taking all my fears and doubts away.
I increasingly feel like the

HERE KITTY, KITTY . . .
I agree that too many Catholics do not understand the theology of the Church. They take no time to think about it beyond the Mass on Sunday and even then, they are distracted or bored with the sermon and liturgy.
I see this as no different from Protestants who attend services, read the Bible and then continue to sin. The preacher may give a great sermon, he may exhort his congregation to follow Jesus and point out their sins, but when it comes down to it, they believe that faith is the only thing that matters. If they believe they are saved, therefore, their actions have no bearing on their salvation.
Now, I believe, as the Church teaches, that grace and salvation are both freely given by Jesus to those who would believe and accept it. But, I believe that it is in our actions that our faith is revealed, not in our words.
It can’t be denied that thousands of Protestants as well as Catholics are ignorant of doctrine and theology. That is why religions with doctrines completely opposed to traditional Christian beliefs are able to draw so many away.
The sad fact is that too many people are not that concerned about their eternal souls. For them, it is enough to espouse a belief in Jesus. It is this world, the physical one they can see, feel, hear, smell and touch that holds their interest. The Church has always taught that in this life we prepare and are prepared for life in the next. The problem is that most don’t want to think about the next, they are too busy living this one.
All of this in an effort of man to escape a life of holiness for a false premise of freedom.
True Freedom is freedom from error, not for man to do whatever he so pleases sin and all.
Those who oppose the Catholic Church in there foolish efforts to bring her down always fail.
Societies, governments and false movements have come and gone and the Church has always survived just as Our Blessed Lord promised it would
I wish you a Blessed day!
