How is it logical? What are the premises?

As to giving glory to men, when God makes a great sunset, I praise it. When He makes a great man I praise the great man. What's the problem with that? I just came from an enquirer's class and was asked about St. Paul. It is clear to me that Paul was a genius, and was given profound insight. I praised him tonight and I will praise him any time. I will also, before, after, and during, praise God he did such wonderful things through him.

Similarly with John Paul II. While I am no great man, I can recognize greatness in theological writing. JP2 was great.

Obama Says A Baby Is A Punishment

Obama: “If they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.”
Saint Pius X (Latin: Pius PP. X) (June 2, 1835—August 20, 1914), born Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto, was the 257th Pope of the Roman Catholic Church, serving from 1903 to 1914, succeeding Pope Leo XIII (1878–1903). He was the first pope since Pope Pius V (1566–72) to be canonized. Pius X was a fervent reformer of Church practises and regulations, such as Canon Law, his most important reform, which for the first time codified Church law in a central fashion. He was a pastoral pope, encouraging personal piety and a life-style reflecting Christian values.

Great thread, Salvation.

Have some Popes been scoundrels over the centuries? Sure. But the vast majority of them were wonderful, saintly, scholarly men.

The Apostles had a checkered record. And let us not speak of the Arch-Heresiarchs, Luther and his support for bigamy (and other sins) leaps to mind.

Yes, check out the St. Malachy links that I posted. One has a list of the Popes and you can find them very easily.
