Fortunately for me, you don’t speak for FreeRepublic. Unfortunately for you, it isn’t my opinion that is under scrutiny. Let’s recap some of the inconsistencies in this little tale:

• detailed memories of a 5-year old 58 or 59 years later are to be taken as credible
• 5-year old can count at least to 300 and understand how many that is
• a cathedral bascilica sized church has capacity seating of only 300, when photo evidence indicates otherwise
• story revised - the guest registry had 300 signatures
• story revised again - the pastor said the church could seat 300
• only 300 show up to a funeral for an “important person” in the Bay Area.
• funeral is a “high mass”
• bishop presides at funeral against family wishes
• visiting bishop is unassisted at funeral mass, not even by parish pastor
• bishop placed funeral pall on casket
• bishop intentionally places inverted cross on casket, visible from all perspectives
• a 5-year old recognizes an upside down cross and understands the significance
• bishop censes casket for an hour (and lives)
• St. Joseph Catholic Church in San Jose claimed to be a cathedral when it was not
• traumatization from this scandalous funeral at 5-years of age kept person from even entering any Catholic Church for another 48 years
