This is the plain truth and the election of this heretic is going to bring terrible consequences to this country. The sad part is that a large part of the American people are now deserving of it.

It is highly presumptuous to declare outright that you know the intentions of the Almighty. Everything happens for a reason ... but we cannot know that reason this immediately. One could argue that McCain lost because of events beyond his control — and thus that he could not have won this election.

That bad things occur in our lives — politically or personally — does not necessarily mean God has withdrawn his providence. Perhaps Obama’s victory IS devine providence in the same way a tragic life-event can be a humbling and faith renewing event.

God does not work through agreeable events alone. When Carter was elected, it was a mere 4-years before dawn in America. I prefer to have faith that God has not abandoned this nation ... that God will not abandon this nation.

I’m not Christian, so most of this gloss I skipped. But this may be the case, that G-d has turned his back to us. I mark it to the day none of the six branches of government (judicial, legislative, executive in both federal and state government) came to remedy and rescue the woman, Terri Schlinder, from the vile Judge’s evil decree that she be killed.

Your use of the word "heretic" got me thinking.

My first thought was that Black Liberation Theology is anything but Christian. So Obama can't be a heretic, because he's never been a believing Christian in the first place.

In polite company, before saying what I just said, you're supposed to issue the proviso "only God knows what's in his heart."

But I think we know what's in the heart of a man who not only condones infanticide, but uses his position of power to stop those who try to stop it.

Pretty wholesale agree.

However . . .

[snowing just now with a cold wind . . . an ill-wind blowing]

Most in the Christian left are a byproduct of this seeker/purpose driven/emerging church/liberal mainline denomination generation that lays down the absolutes of the Bible

Yes, there’s much to criticize about “purpose driven/emerging church”

WHEN they deviate from the priorities and truths of The Gospel and Scripture . . . which in some cases is quite sadly considerable.

The apostate traditional church has been off the track for decades.

I don’t know that the purpose driven/emerging church stuff has been wholesale off the track in all respects from the beginning. I think major chunks have wandered more and more off track. Some may be making some healthy adjustment. We shall see.

[thundering & lightening in a snow storm???? Wierd!]

Anyway—I mostly agree with your post.

Thanks.

The effect of Obama’s election is that it will empower those who oppose the work of God. Those who serve satan will be bolder and more aggressive than ever. They will be targeting like never before, true followers of Christ. Spiritual crack dealers like Oprah who peddle New Age garbage are ok. Those who promote cults like Mormonism, the JWs, Scientology, Kaballah, and others are ok. The false religions like Islam, Buddhists, and others are ok. Those in the Christian left with their social agenda are ok.

Their target will be zeroed in on those who believe, preach, and teach the Bible is God’s inspired, inerrant Word, representing Absolute Truth and our final authority in all matters. They will be out to destroy true followers of Jesus Christ. This will come in many forms, such as laws to call the Bible hate speech as other countries have already done. For the first time, real and tangible persecution is going to be felt by those who refuse to compromise the Truth of the Bible and preach the Gospel.

INDEED.

He already did, some time back. This was our last chance, as a nation, to have His favor return to us. Christians in general have only themselves to blame, settling for treading water all these years in the Republican party, which is moving more and more to the left, even - though more slowly - away from pro-life causes, where support from the RNC has been little more than lip-service for years.

They’ve abandoned their base, and are putting forth very mediocre candidates like McCain, who have more support with some Democrats than true conservative Christians. And we’ve let them do it. Because we were more interested in merely putting in “anybody” who could at least mouth pro-life sentiments, just to avoid allowing pro-death Dems to simply walk in unopposed. We should have been more active within our own ranks maintaining - and increasing - an overall Christian worldview in this country, which would reap its own political rewards. This has never been done. A naive trust in the RNC was left to substitute, and it has yielded a very poor harvest.

I’ve been saying this for years, and have been called everything you can think of and more because of it. But I am no traitor! The Republicans have abandoned me and my own Christ-centered values; I have not abandoned them. On a national level, I will never even consider voting Republican again. I will work to help foster a viable new party that will maintain and (at least eventually) increase its voter support in as short a timspan as possible. I might still vote for some Republicans at more local levels, but, nationally, they cannot get it done. Fostering a new party cannot do any worse.

We are headed into Night. And, again, we Christians, of all types, have brought this on ourselves.

Small point of order. God didn't remove his hand. We ripped it off ourselves and told him we don't want it.

When we stripped His name from our public buildings, made it illegal to pray to Him in schools, legalized the killing of his little ones and started calling sodomy "marriage", we sent Him a message.

God is jealous but He's not one to force Himself on people. If you don't want God in your life, then that's what you'll get. Of course, the consequences may not immediately manifest themselves but eventually, they won't be pretty.

This isn't the beginning. It started several decades ago but recent events (9/11, the financial mess, Obama) indicate that the slope on which we're sliding is now a little steeper and we're probably approaching the end game.

John 18:40 They shouted back, "No, not him! Give us Barabbas!"

Description; Barabbas means son of shame

Is Barry short for Barabbas?

You are absolutely right. I was just telling my whole family this morning; The Lord is sick of this. We will drop to our knees or else. This country has stood idly by while the kids are being indoctrinated in the schools. We have stood by (some not all) watching American Idol and Dancing with the Stars while Rome burns. Well here we are.

We need to regroup, turn back to God and bring back conservatism or this country will fall.

It is hard to understand God’s plan. In the 1930’s, he saw fit to allow the Fascists in Italy, the Nazis in Germany, the Commies in the USSR and the Japanese War party to come to power all at the same time. Millions died. Who knows what He’s got up His sleeve for us now?

Sure it was a bad night, and times are going to be tough, but let’s don’t forget:

Rom:8:28:
“...that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”. (KJV)

God will not give us anything greater than we can handle. This is a wakeup call. We were startled awake by 9-11. We fell back asleep. This is our call to not fall asleep again!

Too bad we did not adhere to this one:

Johnny Hunt, president of the Southern Baptist Convention, said last Sunday, “I’ve read the complete book and in the end, WE WIN!”

Obama and his ilk will pay some day. God is angry.

Maybe God didn’t want us to invade Iraq. Or at least not occupy it. Just a thought.
