1) YES THIS IS A SERIOUS PRAYER THREAD. WE ARE COMMANDED BY THE LORD TO PRAY FOR THOSE WHO ARE OUR ENEMIES AND COMMANDED IN HIS WORD TO PRAY FOR THOSE IN AUTHORITY THAT WE MAY LIVE PEACEFUL LIVES
2)YOUR RESPECT TOWARDS OUR DESIRE TO BE OBEDIENT AND TO SEEK THE LORD'S BLESSINGS FOR OUR NATION AND FOR THE CONVERSION OF OUR PRESIDENT-ELECT IS APPRECIATED
3)WHAT IS, IS. HE IS THE PRESIDENT-ELECT AND IT WOULD BE BETTER FOR US IF HE IS ON GOD'S SIDE RATHER THAN IF HE IS NOT.
4)THANK YOU FOR REFRAINING FROM RUDE COMMENTARY AND VULGARITIES. MANY FREEPERS TRULY FEEL LED TO PRAY FOR THE PRESIDENT-ELECT AND AMERICA ON A DAILY BASIS. THIS THREAD ALLOWS THEM TO DO SUCH, AND MANAGEMENT AND THE RELIGION MODERATOR WILL VIEW ANY RUDE OR VULGAR COMMENTARY ON THIS PRAYER THREAD AS A VIOLATION OF FREE REPUBLIC RULES IN THE RELIGION FORUM. YOU ARE FOREWARNED.
Father, I lift up this foolish nation. I lift them up because they are so much more worried about their pocket books than they are their freedom. They care more about material things than the life of the unborn. More about self than the Savior. Forgive us, Lord. Forgive us for making idols out of mere men and for calling evil good and good evil.
Father, as I look at our nation, so much seems to be in the balance. I noticed the article on CNBC today that said the collapse of our Government's economy is not out of the question, and connected those dots to the 'conspiracy theory' from March and it frightens me to believe that this is actually possible, in America. Whether or not the theory is true, we now live in a different America where man's heart fails him for fear and where sometimes a person's enemies are living within their own household. Save us from the evil one, Lord. Protect us. Heal our land.
Father, I lift up President Elect Obama. Scripture says that whoever is in authority is there by Your will, so we know that You have a plan for his adminstration Our suspicion is that it is for judging this nation. However, our hope is that perhaps there is some mercy left and that You will reach out and transform this man's life and save his soul. Talk about a game changer! In lieu of that, our hope is quite dim and our future somewhat uncertain. Oh, if we are Yours we know that You will never leave nor forsake us; however what is to become of this nation? This great nation founded for Your glory? Only You know. But still we implore You as the God omnipotent of Heaven and earth, the ONLY true God, to intervene in this land. Help us Lord. Help bring us all to a position where You are number one in our lives. Do not let evil triumph. And may You be glorified in each thing we say and do. For it is in the precious name of Christ Jesus that I pray these things, Amen.

The mods have already spoken as has JimRob. The religion forum has rules. Prayer threads are not places for debate. Those are Free Republics rules, not mine.
Maybe we should institute our own Fairness doctrine.
Holy God, be merciful unto us and bless us and cause Your face to shine upon us. We need only one thing in America and that is a return unto our Savior and King---the one TRUE God. May Your Name be glorified both now and evermore! Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for President Bush and his leadership, his humility and his love for the U.S. Thank you that we used to have free elections to choose such a man. Please place a huge hedge of protection around him, may your angels watch over him.
Thank you for the beautiful year we’ve had outdoors, and the reminder that You are in control. Thank you for forgiveness which I beg for myself and our nation now. Please forgive us for our sins, especially the one of ignoring You.
I pray that you will direct Barack. Please prevent him from destroying our nation and open the eyes of people to who he is. Please save his soul and the souls of those around him. Please place Your arm of protection around his two little girls.

Please convict BO of his sin of running for President when he had no business doing so, and convince him to resign as “President-Elect” and endorse John McCain.

I visit this thread often enough to understand the debatable issues.
I just get really mean when characters like you can tell me to pray, OR NOT!
Of course, we all pray for this country and its leaders. And as soon as Obama is president, I'll pray for him too.
I just don't understand why this is the issue YOU made of it with your "NO DEBATE ALLOWED" comment.
Please check the link in the religion moderator’s webpage provided above. The Religion moderator and I discussed the best way to handle the continued debate on this particular thread so as to not make the moderator have to work overtime cleaning up the thread. That is where the no debate allowed comment came from. Beyond that you are in violation of Free Republic’s own stated policy. There are many places (including a couple of threads last night) discussing the efficacy of praying for Obama. Please utilize one of those and leave the prayer thread alone.
You're "NO DEBATE ALLOWED" comment, conveniently removed, was especially irritating to me.
Please utilize another thread to post such an inane comment. I want to see the reaction.
Dear Lord:
Please tell us how you would have us act at this confusing time in human history.
We are faced with the leadership of an Anti-Christian President who has lied over and over again about who he is and what he stands for.
We, your sinful yet forgiven devotees, find ourselves a fork in the road. We love America because of its embodiment of your Commandments and Your Spirit...yet we are afraid that the leadership of this once great country has been usurpted by those who seek to implement laws which are at odds to your nature.
If you would have us stand up and, for our testimony to you, die!
We will most proudly do so.
We thank you Father for saving us until the very last. Thank you for giving us our chance to shout...and die!
I do not know who removed the NO DEBATE ALLOWED comment but it wasn’t solely my idea to put it there. Speak with the moderator and stop disrupting a prayer thread. Assuming it was removed because it caused such a ruckus last night. You don’t want to pray for Obama. Don’t. You want to debate it? You can do so on other threads, just not this one. It is a prayer thread marked prayer posted in the Religion forum. Those are the rules. Please respect them.
I’m not a better Christian, just a called one. I understand your sentiment.
and Lord, an extra prayer tonight, that HoosirHawk would understand that sometimes rules are OK because they help keep a civilized people civil.
