Father, I lift up this foolish nation. I lift them up because they are so much more worried about their pocket books than they are their freedom. They care more about material things than the life of the unborn. More about self than the Savior. Forgive us, Lord. Forgive us for making idols out of mere men and for calling evil good and good evil.
Father, as I look at our nation, so much seems to be in the balance. I noticed the article on CNBC today that said the collapse of our Government's economy is not out of the question, and connected those dots to the 'conspiracy theory' from March and it frightens me to believe that this is actually possible, in America. Whether or not the theory is true, we now live in a different America where man's heart fails him for fear and where sometimes a person's enemies are living within their own household. Save us from the evil one, Lord. Protect us. Heal our land.
Father, I lift up President Elect Obama. Scripture says that whoever is in authority is there by Your will, so we know that You have a plan for his adminstration Our suspicion is that it is for judging this nation. However, our hope is that perhaps there is some mercy left and that You will reach out and transform this man's life and save his soul. Talk about a game changer! In lieu of that, our hope is quite dim and our future somewhat uncertain. Oh, if we are Yours we know that You will never leave nor forsake us; however what is to become of this nation? This great nation founded for Your glory? Only You know. But still we implore You as the God omnipotent of Heaven and earth, the ONLY true God, to intervene in this land. Help us Lord. Help bring us all to a position where You are number one in our lives. Do not let evil triumph. And may You be glorified in each thing we say and do. For it is in the precious name of Christ Jesus that I pray these things, Amen.

Thank you for President Bush and his leadership, his humility and his love for the U.S. Thank you that we used to have free elections to choose such a man. Please place a huge hedge of protection around him, may your angels watch over him.

Of course, we all pray for this country and its leaders. And as soon as Obama is president, I'll pray for him too.

Please tell us how you would have us act at this confusing time in human history.
We are faced with the leadership of an Anti-Christian President who has lied over and over again about who he is and what he stands for.
We, your sinful yet forgiven devotees, find ourselves a fork in the road. We love America because of its embodiment of your Commandments and Your Spirit...yet we are afraid that the leadership of this once great country has been usurpted by those who seek to implement laws which are at odds to your nature.
If you would have us stand up and, for our testimony to you, die!

Dear Heavenly Father:
We have strayed from Your course & have not held control or influenced this people in a way that will promote the general welfare of our country. Forgive us Father for being flippant & selfish, shallow & complicit with evil men. Our churches are sidetracked by all manner of heresies & Your presence is seldom detected these days. We know all things work together for good to those who are the called according to Your purpose. We also know You hear & answer our prayers, it is the way You have chosen to work on the earth. So, I intercede on behalf of our people, Your people in the earth. I believe the election of this man Obama is a symptom of a dread blindness that has overtaken our nation. Many of us resisted this tack but we were overwhelmed by the determination of the masses to trample us under foot in a frightening determination to have their own way. Is this the scattering of the power of the Holy people that You revealed to Daniel would happen? I don’t know, but I’m beginning to suspect. You said when salt has lost it’s savor it’s good for nothing but to be thrown out to be trodden under foot of man. Has the church so lost her saltiness that she has been thrown under foot thereby having her power scattered?
We know You hold the heart of kings in your hands & turn them any way you choose. Whether this presidency is a sign of judgment for the lukewarmness of the church, or to fulfill a larger purpose we cannot see, we ask Dear Lord that you have mercy on those that are Yours & make a provision for us. Help us with a little help. As Our Savior prayed in the garden in John 17 so I pray, not for those who are in the world, but for those who have believed in Your name. Keep us Lord Jesus, make our way straight. Strengthen us in the inner man & give us great courage. Clear our minds & let us move according to Your will. Bless our children & keep them safe from this evil that has overtaken the world.
I ask that you throw stumbling blocks before the plans of the wicked. We also know judgment begins at Your house so if this is a judgment on us, the church, then please help us to purify ourselves. Cause those Dear Lord who hate your people, to grope in darkness without success when they purpose in their hearts to hurt or make laws to destroy the innocent. Cause their arrogant plans to come to naught & let their skirts be discovered upon their faces. Let those who have been deceived & taken in by these wicked to awaken. Open their eyes of understanding & let them see how they have erred by cooperating with people of evil plans. We are accused of hatred & racism by hateful, arrogant people. We are your people Lord God, Creator of the Universe. We are your sheep. Hide us under your wings & deal with our enemies. Fill us with Your love so we may hold fast until the end.
