Only certain Baby Boomers still living in the fairytale years made up after the misunderstandings of some laity and clergy of Vatican II and their students could be called brainwashed in this regard.
It’s my understanding that in the Catholic Church there is an allowance for those who are homosexual but do not act upon their homosexual instincts. That is very different from accepting homosexual behaviour. Something like that.
