Chag Shavu`ot sameach lakol!
Noahides deny the Divinity of Jesus Christ. They claim He was a false prophet.
Bump!
Annual Shavu`ot bump (a little late this year, unfortunately).
Second request: please drop me from your ping list; thank you.
My apologies.
Though I can't imagine how you got there in the first place if you didn't request it at some time.
Thanks for the ping. May we (re)receive the Torah with joy and in a meaningful way!
I did request it. Then I came upon one of your comments on the ‘La Raza Master Race,’ thread. That was when I made my first request. Here’s a link to it:

[I have enough liberals telling me Trump’s “not bright enough” to do this or that; I don’t need to hear it from conservatives too.]
The only relief in mankinds downward plunge has come from the Torah which G-d gave to His Holy Nation at Mount Sinai. Except for that, mankinds entire history has been to descend deeper into the trash heap.Trash heap of the nations, the most reviled of the nations [of the world]... he must come from America then. This is why the Messiah must come from the trash heap! This is why the Messiah must come from Moab, and David must come from Ruth. There is no other way! This is where we are and this is our only way out! But we have to know: there is a way out!
WHY DAVID MUST COME FROM THE MOST REVILED NATION
That's a terribly petty reason, but I've removed you.
I intend to vote for Trump too. But he still doesn't seem to realize that he has been handed a golden opportunity to not only expose the judge's connections (instead of just pointing out he is of Mexican descent) but also of the neo-Nazi, Falangist origins of Hispanic "nationalism." But on that he's no less bright than any other politician, since none of them ever do this.
That’s what I read too. And Moses had to go to God twice...first receiving the law written by God’s finger...the second, to receive the law again; only the second time, God made Moses write the laws down himself.(The implication seems to be that God may have been none to happy with Moses’ fit of pique when he broke the first(God written) tablets in wrath at Israel’s apostacy)
I don’t know where the author of the article got his theology but he seems to have ignored whole sections of the the Bible including the book of Hebrews...especially 6-12 chapters where Paul discusses Mount Sinai in juxtaposition to mount Zion and the priestly order of Aaron vs the priestly order of Melchizedek of which Jesus Christ was chief priest!
The existence of Israel is a fact which mean we ignore the rest of the Bible at our eternal peril!
‘That’s a terribly petty reason’
I respectfully disagree. Trump has beaten indescribably long odds to win this nomination. He’s demonstrated uncanny street smarts and insights all along the way. Now self-styled wise people are coming out of the woodwork to denigrate his intelligence and generously share their superior wisdom. A little of that presumptuousness goes a long way. It is immanently legitimate for anyone who’s tired of this drill to take steps to minimize their exposure to it.
He needs to step up his game. He's going to face the nastiest smear machine in political history--and these people used to be his friends!!! He'd better point out Curiel's (or whatever his name is) ideological affiliations and then expose that ideology for what it is--not merely say he's "of Mexican heritage." And that's all I've heard him say. If I'm wrong, okay. I guess that just means that the media won't report it when he does say it.
The dude needs to start talking about Jose Antonio Primo de Rivera and Spanish Falangism. That would actually make a dent.
Hillary Clinton should be in prison and I'm afraid we're going to have her shoved down her throats. Do you honestly think she's ever going to be indicted?
Anyway, you're off the list. Don't worry about it.
I’ve been a Trump supporter since July. In that time I’ve read enough sincere, urgent and ‘indispensable’ advice for Trump to fill a very large book. If Trump had taken one tenth of this ‘brilliant’ advice he’d have lost.
As it is, he’s winning. Of course people are still hand-wringing and trying to force advice onto Trump. Yet from what I’ve seen firsthand, Trump is following a winning sstrategy—even during the periodic interludes when pundits et al insist that ***this*** time he’s truly gone too far; ***this*** time he’s toast.
L’affaire La Raza judge is not over. If history is any indicator, by the time it IS over, Trump will be in the catbird seat.
Meanwhile, I’m discounting the analysis/advice of those who have nothing compared to Trump’s track record of wins to back them up. He’s handled things just right so often, I’m not holding my breath that he’s finally committed the Big Blunder. Rather, I’m willing to wait until I see the totality of Trump’s strategy first.
Thanks for taking me off the list; much appreciated.
One final bump!
He’s Jewish, Braugh. Why would he quite Hebrews?
I realized my error too late...but perhaps others might be interested and take a look!
I've waited till the last minute this year. I apologize to everyone.
It’s often overlooked that God merely *started* with the Ten Commandments.
“And God spake all these words, saying...”
God actually continued after the text of the Ten Commandments:
“Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.”
“An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen...”
What followed the Ten Commandments was not less important. God’s speech was only interrupted because the people were terrified and begged, “And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die!”
Here's my contribution for this important day. Also the typing correction at post 60.
These dates really do connect, because:
"Jubilee deals largely with land, property, and property rights. According to Leviticus, slaves and prisoners would be freed, debts would be forgiven, and the mercies of God would be particularly manifest." (wiki)
And tomorrow, the 50th day, is the eve of the Jerusalem Embassy deadline (June 1).
From and including: Monday, September 17, 2001 (Elul 29)
To, but not including Wednesday, May 31, 2017
Result: 5735 days
Properties of the number 5735
Factorization 5 * 31 * 37
Divisors 1, 5, 31, 37, 155, 185, 1147, 5735
pentagonal (62)
The date: 5*31
5735 = 31 x 185, which are both of the values of El (= 31, and the milui of El = 185)
62 = biyn, bein
185 = ani l'dodi v'dodi li,
which not only includes the "two Davids", but is the phrase distinctly associated with Jewish marriage.
I am my beloveds and my beloved is mine, Song of Songs (Shir HaShirim), Chapter 6, verse 3A. Many phrases from The Song of Songs written by King Solomon, have been used throughout weddings for centuries. But why is this particular phrase so popular when it comes to weddings? What does it truly mean?
Many have pointed out that the initials of the words in this phrase spell out Elul which we wrote about in September. When you read the entire poem from where this phrase comes from, it is a beautiful love story between a man and a woman. Often this is read as a metaphor of the love between the Jewish people and God. Rabbi Lev Herrnson writes that in a relationship with God sometimes we seek Him and pray to Him and sometimes He blesses us. The relationships is always a give and take, a balance. So too, a husband and wife should always give and receive love and support.

From Chabad's email sent out today:
Dear Friend,
It was the most important moment in our nation's history.
G-d Himself descended on the mountain. Speaking to each one of us, He declared, "I am G-d your G-d!" and then presented us each with the Torah to keep and cherish. It was a moment of love and commitment; indeed, the day G-d gave us the Torah is called our "wedding day."
And this Wednesday, during the holiday of Shavuot, we will celebrate this momentous event anew!
