In a rebuke to the more conservative branches of the Anglican Communion, the bishops of the Episcopal Church voted 99-45 on July 13 to affirm the ordination of non-celibate homosexuals to any ordained ministry within the church, so long as they are in lifelong committed relationships.

As an Anglican, this breaks my heart and steels my resolve. Please pray for us.
No worries. ;) We will.
I have taken lots of heat for commenting on the nature of the Episcopal Church — but here you go. Article speaks for itself. They are impatient to ordain practicing homosexual “bishops” as long as they are in a life-long “committed” relationship.
Why put those stipulations on it? If you are going to break the prohibition against homosexuality, who cares?
Homosexuality is a scandal and it’s not right for practicing homosexuals to be priests and bishops anyway.
Bad news for Bishop Robinson as he divorced his wife and abandoned his family to take up with his "boy toy". I guess that "lifelong committed relationships" have expiration dates in the Godless Episcopal Church.
Do not use potty language on the Religion Forum.
Does anyone here want to venture a guess as to how long it will be before the Episcopal bishops decide that it is just unfair and "non-inclusive" to exclude from "any ordained ministry" people who simply live together without benefit of marriage? Or people who are in "lifelong committed relationships" but feel that it is OK to have sex with someone other than their "life partners"?
You forgot one other question. How does someone determine if a relationship is lifelong if they aren’t dead yet?
The guy stood before God and Man and lied when he got married to his wife. He used his marriage to further his move up the hierarchy. If he left her for another woman he would have been
removed.
