WASHINGTON (CNS) -- From lost causes to the unattractive, patron saints are associated with virtually every occupation, ailment and activity. St. Gabriel Francis Possenti, a 19th-century Passionist monk and patron saint of Italy's Abruzzi region, clerics and youths, is gaining a line of followers who feel he should be recognized by the Vatican as the patron saint of "handgunners."

I guess this just hit CNS, but the Possenti Society has been around for years.

Handgunners could USE a patron saint -- at least I sure could!

I have always admired the Passionists and this brief news article about this priest saint who knew how to shot ‘em came to me as a suprise.:)

Plus there are two retreat houses in my neck of the woods which are both run by the Passionists, for men and women.
