Excellent program tonight! What did you think? Dorinda Bordlee provided outstanding analysis of the proposed health bill, clarifying Obama's choice of words when he said that abortion would not be paid for with tax dollars. According to the bill, it would be paid for with
premiums! I especially appreciated Fr. Sirico's clarification of the church's vision of universal
access to health care, not a government plan. He placed 'access' up there with a person's right to food, water and education. The big surprise for me was learning that Ted Kennedy's letter to the pope, hand delivered by Obama, was 10 pages long! And then there was the discussion on the impending funeral. Fr. Sirico was quite upset about the planned eulogy by Obama. According to the GIRM, eulogies are not to take place during a funeral.
