Why should I accept the authority of Dr. Ken Blue? Does his position as pastor of Open Door Baptist Church guarantee that he is infallible?
PS — Someone should tell Dr. Blue that the name of the last book in the Bible is not “Revelations”. It is “Revelation”. The fact that he doesn’t know the name of the book he’s talking about kind of dampens his credibility.
Only if one majors in minors and minors in majors vs
majoring in majors and minoring in minors.
Such errors are usually a result of a sub-culture that never corrects itself on various ‘-isms’ that take hold in that group.
However, I’m familiar with the phenomenon of finding all manner of excuse to avoid fair-mindedly considering truth or even ‘mere’ evidence.
If Holy Spirit does not confirm anything from Dr Blue, then by all means, ignore him.
Did you notice the RC’s around the 1500’s teaching such things? I thought that was humorous. I’d forgotten about that.
Also, the whole counsel of Scripture is great for checking out what anyone says . . .
even The Pope or the magicsterical.
I feel the Catholic Church does a wonderful job of playing by it’s rules. Most protestant churches are very quick to throw out their constitutions. In your case I wouldn’t advise that you leave the church just open your mind to the possibilities and trust Our Lord Jesus Christ to reveal the truth. Teddy did not leave the church and the Priests homily yesterday was beautiful. He was for abortion however, I doubt you would support abortion. To be a Catholic today does not require one to be in lock step with the Pope.. My two favorite current Christian examples are Mother Theresa and Pope John Paul II.
No one is infallible, including the Pope.
