Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- The International Federation of Planned Parenthood Foundation gave slain late-term abortion practitioner George Tiller its highest award over the weekend. The international abortion business honored Tiller posthumously in Washington months after he was shot and killed in his Kansas church.
Planned Parenthood gave Tiller its Medal of Honor for "outstanding individual contribution to sexual and reproductive health."
According to a Wichita News report, Tiller's widow Jeanne accepted the award on her late husband's behalf.
Alexander Sanger, grandson of Margaret Sanger, the woman who founded Planned parenthood and who has come under fire for having racist views for doing so, presented Tiller with the award.
"For 30 years, George Tiller stood up to protests, harassment and assaults, even being wounded some years ago in a shooting," Alexander Sanger said. "He kept his clinic doors open to give a choice to women who never imagined they would ever need it women with a wanted pregnancy that had gone terribly awry as it progressed."
Troy Newman, president of Operation Rescue, which strongly publicly opposed Tiller's late-term abortion business and worked with other pro-life groups in trying to get state officials to clamp down on alleged abuses, told the newspaper he didn't think Tiller should get an award.
"He's become St. George to the abortion movement now because he was martyred to their cause," Newman said.
Before his death, the state board that monitors doctors was close to revoking Tiller's medical license on allegations that he falsified the age of unborn children before the late-term abortions that took their lives. He allegedly did so to stay within the confines of state law.
Tiller also injured numerous women in botched abortions and was responsible for overseeing another abortion practitioner, LeRoy Carhart, who killed mentally disabled teenager Christin Gilbert in a failed abortion.
Tiller was killed on May 31 at Reformation Lutheran Church where he was serving as an usher for the Sunday morning church service.
Scott Roeder, a 51-year-old Kansas City resident and former militia activist with no ties to any pro-life organizations, has been charged with murder in his death. He faces a January 11 trial date.
Death is the new health.
post of the millenium candidate.

it's all about mainstreaming it. when they start having reality shows about abortion clinics, will people wake up?
Planned Parenthood gave Tiller its Medal of Honor for “outstanding individual contribution to sexual and reproductive health.”
He was the best damn “baby killer” out there. He survived 2 previous attempts on his life, but soldiered on in his slaughter of the innocents. He won this award “bloody” hands down.
RIH Tiller!!
Planned Parenthood is a death-focused organization. Shut them down by going to pray in front of a PP clinic near you during the 40 Days for Life
I’m shocked - shocked! - that the leader in the baby-butchery business would honor a baby-butcher.
Or not. After all, other corporations have their salesman-of-the-year awards, etc. to honor those whose efforts make money for the company. It fosters a competitive spirit, and encourages their employees to work harder at what they do.
No doubt it was nice to known in the baby-butchery business as “Tiller the Baby Killer”, and I’m sure his parents were proud of his success. But they must be absolutely beaming at this official, government-endorsed, president-approved honor, even though it was awarded posthumously, due to the inherent hazards of his job - that of killing people’s kids.
Good. Let the ghouls honor their dead.
I’m sure God gave him a top award too. Depart from me you evil doer. I never knew you.
