A Message To Those Who Will Be/Are Left Behind - The Rapture of the Church
The Ignorant Fishermen Blog ^ | 8/13/09 | DJP I.F.

Posted on 10/07/2009 3:25:53 PM PDT by The Ignorant Fisherman

Greetings in the Name of The Lord Jesus Christ! This brief letter is written to those of you who have been left behind. May I calm your great anxiety and fears with this great message of hope! God loves you and cares greatly for you. He has a great plan, purpose and future for you and your life. He wants only and always the highest and best things for you. So please give your ear and full attention to the words that follow. The days ahead will be days that will not be easy - in fact they will be quite horrendous. But be of good cheer and of good courage. Have Faith in Almighty God and His Word.

Jesus said, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but hath everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved (John 3:16-17).

God so loved us that He sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for your sins and mine! God has thus provided a way to restore fellowship with sinners (all humans), and to remove His righteous wrath that was upon us because of our sins and trespasses

Here are a few:

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. (NIV)

1 Corinthians 15:51-52
Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. (NIV)

Matthew 24:30-36
“At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
“Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door. I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Iggie, God bless you, my brother, but I want to be ready just in case the rapture is seven years later than that—as it appears the apostolic church—who were taught by the apostles themselves—believed.

There is NO SUCH event, as a rapture. And you will find this out when they start implanting the micro-chips in your arm.

But in answer to the question, I will be giving them he*l.

AW, This passage is quite tricky - Matt 24: 30 -36. speaks about Christ's second coming at the end of the 7 year tribulation (not the rapture)also about seven years after the rapture has taken place. Those that are removed are those who survived the tribulation but are unregenerated. These will be removed by God's angels before the Wedding Supper of the Lamb or the commencement of the 1000 Kingdom of Christ Amen!

Matt 25:31-46 also this scripture speaks of Christ 2nd return after with those who dealt wickedly with Israel

Some other Rapture verses...
John 14:3, 1 John 1 3:2, Rev 4:1, 2 Thess. 2:5-8 Even so come!

Just in case you are going there. Rapture comes from the transliteration of the Latin rapio from the Latin Vulgate Bible, which was translated from the Greek harpazo. It means to be caught up or snatched up.

If he is teaching of a rapture and a left behind scenario then it is heresy. Jesus only come back one time He does not make a U-turn in the air and then comes again and again it is only once.

Not left behind, but the historic opinion of those who knew the apostles. He teaches that the rapture (so-called) is merely one aspect of the (one) second coming of Christ, happening right before the millennium begins.

Right. The blessed hope of Christ’s return will sustain us when the real persecution starts. The American church is nowhere near ready for that, I’m sorry to have to say.

Well, it’s posttrib, but it’s not the specifically prewrath kind. One second coming. I especially like the way he has researched the writings of the early church fathers and has compared them with scripture. Check it out. (By the way, Ig, I don’t mean to hijack your thread. Later.)

What if the Rapture has already happened? Maybe there were not so many Christians snatched up as folks might have expected. The earthly situation looks a bit like it is sliding into some serious tribulating right now.

How many trumpets are there after the "last trumpet"?

Matthew 24:30-36

There is no mention of a “rapture” in that passage.

A Disillusioned Preacher

More than forty years ago this writer was the youthful pastor of a village church. He was an ardent Bible teacher (???), charting the seven dispensations, selling the Scofield Reference Bible, wishing he was rich enough to present copies of “Jesus Is Coming,” by W. E. Blackstone, to all of his friends and convinced that the Moody Bible Institute was the only hope, and perhaps the last hope, of apostate America. And then he was asked a question:

“What verse teaches that the church will be caught away before the tribulation?”

He quoted several referring to the second coming of Christ. Following each came the question:

“Does that say that the church will be caught away before the tribulation?”

He went to his room and searched the concordance. No help! He searched his bookshelves. Popular authors constantly asserted that Jesus is coming, before the tribulation. None of them quoted a verse which taught it. Beautiful dispensational charts, but no verse. How stupid can men be! This writer professed to teach nothing without a “thus saith the Lord;” and yet he was unaware that there was no, “thus saith the Lord,” to support this hub of prophetical doctrines, this rapture of the church before the tribulation. One question, without argument or persuasion, and against his own desires, revolutionized this writer’s life. All of his interests and affections were on the rapture side of the question. It took years to think around this problem, and in those troubled years a pamphlet discussing this issue frankly would have been priceless.

The issue is not literalism, or spiritualizing, or Jewish features of the tribulation, or clear distinctions between church and Israel, or the fulfillment of Jewish kingdom promises, or modernism, or deploring a hopeless future,

We state the issue plainly: IS JESUS COMING ACCORDING TO HIS WORD IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE TRIBULATION? OR IS HS COMING ACCORDING TO THE WORD OF SOME EMINENT PREACHERS IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE TRIBULATION?

Literalists should be literal! Chapter and verse! Please! Plain Speaking On The Rapture Question

Like trinity, rapture is not specifically mentioned anywhere in the Bible. It is a concept drawn from interpretation of numerous passages. I am not really coming down on either side, I was just pointing out some passages used to support the idea.

Jesus only come back one time

Yes - as the King of King at Armageddon. Before that HE appears in the clouds to call His saints out for His saints aren't appointed unto wrath. The tribulation is when He pours His wrath out.

Some other Rapture verses... John 14:3, 1 John 1 3:2, Rev 4:1, 2 Thess. 2:5-8 Even so come!

Interesting.

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. (John 14:3)
Where is the rapture in that passage (rather than the vanilla Second Coming)?
Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. (1 John 3:2)
Where is the rapture in that passage (rather than the vanilla Second Coming)?
After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, "Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this." (Rev. 4:1)
Where is the rapture in that passage?
5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? 6 And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. (2 Thess. 2)
Where is the rapture in that passage? That clearly sounds like the Second Coming.

No the wrath is when God pours it out the tribulation is the tribulation of the saints by Satan. Jesus told us that we would have tribulation just as He did, we would be despised and brought before judges and have our heads cut off the saint beneath the alter who were beheaded during the tribulation for their faith. It says that Christ will return and all will see Him in the air just as when He left. There is no u-turns, no secret raptures just one return.

The tribulation believers go through now is on earth and is from satan and his pawns. The tribulation period is when God pours out HIS wrath on unbelievers! His saints are not appointed unto wrath. Jesus, the bridegroom comes for his bride, the church, in the air and we ascend. Then in heaven there is the wedding feast for the bride/bridegroom. Later HIS saints return with Him to the earth to bring an end to the tribulation.

There is only one return. When He’s in the air - He is not returning - just shouting out for His saints to welcome them home. He comes for us - in the air!

He will remove the Church (Rapture) - true believers in the Christ of Holy Scripture then judge the world for seven years then he will come again with the saints of heaven..

You have to see things through a despensational window to see the whole pic. when certain groups through Israel under the bus they miss out on the whole tribulation and rapture teachings..

But we are told we don’t know the time of His return - so let’s all look busy ... for me, I’m in the post camp ... and I look at it this way: the early Christians suffered horribly. Can we who’ve enjoyed all our riches (money and materialistic Walmart goodies, and health) be pulled out before some wrath of the Anti-christ hits? Then to look at those early Christians and say “Boy, we sure were lucky” ... I’d rather stay and fight for my belief and if necessary die for it ... but at least I did something ... and would be proud to stand with those early martyred Christians .... me being a Messianic Jew ....

The wedding is in the Millennium. The wrath is of God on the ungodly the tribulation is for all people on earth saved and unsaved. The bible speaks of our faith keeping it unto the end. Christ told His disciples that He would send them a helper instead of removing them.

17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

He's talking to those who will be part of His church (the called out assembly) on the day of Pentecost. When He will come for His own (the Church)or Called out assembly. at the Rapture or the Harponzo (the snatch away)(Greek).

All these verses are referring to that event.
