Depends on a lot of factors.
I don’t see this as being very fruitful much longer.
It’s virtually impossible to dialogue sensibly, much less redemptively with someoen who’s never even been in the galactic cluster with an authentic experience of such.
I teach and most of the folks I respect teach that each individual is responsible to take whatever anyone says is from God
back TO GOD AND ASK FOR HIS DIRECT CONFIRMATION.
God is rarely in a hurry. There’s time.
If for some hyper rare reason one has to decide or act quickly, then one prays quickly and acts in faith and trusts God to work it out regardless. He always does.
You lost me at galactic cluster, but ok.
God’s microphone
is far
from equal
to God.
I'm fine with that.
1. A galactic cluster encloses a LOT OF SPACE.
2. My hyperbole is . . . that if someone has not even been as close as one side of a galactic cluster to the other—that ‘close’ to an authentic EXPERIENCE of God using them as a microphone, then having a meaningful dialogue will likely be impossible or at best unfruitful at some soon reached point.
3. Intellectualizations about it just don’t cut it.
4. The one with the experience is not going to be the least bit tarnished by idiotic rationalized hogwash.
5. The one without an experience is not going to be persuaded by libraries full of tidy little sentences, all in a pristine rigidly biased prissy little row.
Yes, Quix, we know, you know more about God, scripture than anyone else here. You also know more about the Catholic Church than anyone, even Catholics. You denounce the Catholic Church repeatedly, repeat half-truths and out and out falsehoods. Claim that the Catholic Church is an idolator of Mary. Now GOD is speaking to YOU through someone you talk to on the phone.
What a coincidence that a prophet would find YOU and perform a miracle? Quix, the most pure has found God’s megaphone and God has spoken to you through his microphone, or more accurately, the TELEPHONE.
God has spoken to YOU, through an internet prophet named Jedediah here on Free Republic, who claims no knowledge of said miracle. All he knows is that if a miracle was performed it came through God.
Like most folks of this sort, he won’t call himself a God (he does admit to being a prophet and a healer) he leaves others to speculate, speaks mysteriously and ambiguously.
Didn’t you take any of what Sir_Ed told you to heart?
Beware Jedediah, it concerns me that it seems you keep speaking to him on the phone and think that God is speaking through Him to you.
He’s avoided the subject for days, and when he finally speaks he claims no knowledge of your miracle and cavalierly says IF a miracle WAS performed, it must have come from God. We’ve seen this type before.
Gods microphone is far from equal to God.
Only if I say God's microphone is far from perfect: say something not true, distort, squeel, hiss, etc. :)
If this is your view, then oila, we agree again.
PRAISE GOD FOR THAT.
Discuss the issues all you want, but do NOT make it personal.
Would you then present what came out as God speaking?
To jump ahead, I wouldn't.
You prayed and waited on the Lord.
Who then told you about Quix’s traumatic experience 12 years ago?
Thus proving (what a COINCIDENCE) that God speaks through you.
So you’re a prophet, a healer, and God gives you messages for Quix.
Sorry if I’m skeptical.
Is there anything else we should know about you?
Just how often does God give you messages for people?
Do you believe you act as “God’s megaphone” as Quix does?
Can you share with us other things that God is telling you?
Distortion is a major problem.
40 years on the back side of the desert alone with God tended to minimize that in the OT.
Even ST Paul had his wilderness training and purifying.
A lot of us have our wilderness experiences and still are quite flawed, hard of hearing etc.
We’d run the other direction and hide . . . but we’ve read about Jonah and besides, God can run faster.
And if one hammer doesn’t work, He always gets a bigger hammer.
So we do the best we can and God uses us anyway. Given He’s the Boss, what can we say.
We do the best we can. We try and learn from our mistakes. We try and hear clearly and relate accurately. It’s all we can do.
There’s something about being flawed that’s very contributive to humility. That’s a very high priority with The Lord.
100% agreement on that post.
:)
DEPENDS.
I’ve said such things . . . my preference is:
“My impression at the moment is . . .
“It feels in my spirit as though God might be trying to focus on, say, speak to, indicate . . .
etc. etc. etc.
HOWEVER, on more than a few occasions,
I’ve spoken in the first person as God speaking
BECAUSE THAT WAS THE WAY THE WORDS CAME AND GOD’S BOOT IN MY BACK SIDE INSISTED THAT I DO SO.
I TRY to AVOID arguing with God. I don’t recommend it.
“Noah, how long can you tred water?” comes to mind.
Most of the time, literally 3-4 words will come to mind with a entle press in my spirit and the character and flavor of Holy Spirit being the author of the words.
Often enough, it’s in first person as from God. Often, it’s not. I try to deliver it however it comes.
YEA FOR THAT.
It’s interesting, Except for Enoch, Moses . . . maybe Samuel . . . virtually all the Old Testament Prophets who heard so clearly from God . . . became a bit proud or smug or taking for grantite about it.
Their sons were a mess. One wonders how easy they were to live with. Humility seemed to be a big problem sooner or later.
The New Testament crop . . . I Cor 12-14 . . . the local congregation has to pass on every word for the congregation or given in the congregation. Humbling. The congregation points out where it’s right or wrong. Humbling.
Keeps the prophetic types persistently on their faces before God.
I think He likes it that way. Safer for His priorities and safer for His prophets.
You were talking about God speaking in a very literal sense. Specifically, telling you of an experience 12 years ago, through Jedediah.
Why would God need to perform parlor tricks/mind reading to prove to you that He is real?
So the pipeline is God-Jedediah-Quix?
