Hanuka celebrates the victory of the uprising against Greek rule. The alter of temple sacrifice was being defiled with abomination by the Greek rulers. The family, Maccabees led the overthrow of the defilers and the re sanctification of the temple in Jerusalem. This prepared for the coming of our Lord many years later.

The miracle of the lights was that in the freed the temple there was only enough olive oil for one day. It would take many days to get the proper oil. In fact the oil for one day, lasted for 8 days. A sign that there is always the light available to shine from the Wonderful One within us.

Chanukah is a great time for followers of the Jewish Messiah to celebrate.
The eight day Feast of Chanukah echoes of the eight days of the Feast of Tabernacles
It was most likely when the "light of the world"
(John 8:12) entered human form and tabernacled among us.

Feast of Tabernacles is the birth day of Yah'shua.

This question is answered when you believe and trust
the Holy Word of Elohim in Luke 1.

Yah'shua's birth on Sukkot
(Sukkot is the Feast of Tabernacles or booths,
where we live in temporary shelters.
Sukkot is when YHvH took on a temporary
garment to be with His People
and to die as the Lamb of G-d on Pesach
in order to bring salvation to all
who would call on His Name:
(Romans 10:13 & Joel 2:32)
Yah'shua ( YHvH is become my salvation)).
Ps. 18:2, 46; 27:1; 35:9; 38:22; 88:1;
118:14; 119:174; 140:7; Isa. 12:2; 56:1;
61:10; Mic. 7:7; Hab. 3:18

Sukkot as the date is supported by Elizabeth's
pregnancy of John the Immerser.
The time sequence is outlined by the
Holy Word of Elohim in Luke 1 with Zacharias.

Zacharias served as a high priest and
based on his tribe, we know when he served
(1 Chronicles 24:7-18) and when he was
struck dumb and when John was conceived.

John would have been born on Pesach.
Most Jews believed that Elijah
would come at Pesach to announce
the coming of the Messiah (Malachi 4:5).

Factor in when Miriam visited her cousin Elizabeth,
Elizabeth was six months pregnant (Luke 1:26)
Thus the timing of Yah'shua's birth can be ascertained.

John (1:14) tells us that Yah'shua was made flesh
and tabernacled among us.

The word "dwelt" in the Koine Greek is:

σκηνόω Strong's G4637 - skēnoō
1) to fix one's tabernacle,
have one's tabernacle,
abide (or live) in a tabernacle (or tent),
tabernacle
2) to dwell

Eight days after the beginning of Sukkot is
another Holy Feast Day called Shemini Atzeret.

Eight days after a Jewish male is born he is circumcised.

After the Eighth day comes the the most Joyous day:
Simchat Torah or
the rejoicing in the Torah (The Word of Elohim).

Nine months back from Sukkot is Chanukah
where the light entered the temple.

Biblical Dates for the Birth of Yochanan the Immerser
and for the Conception and Birth of Yeshua HaMashiach

One cannot be Jewish and accept Jesus as Messiah!

Do you mean Jesus the Jewish Messiah ?

Do you mean Jesus the future King of the world
ruling on the throne of King David from
Jerusalem for a thousand years ?

Jesus is not the Jewish Messiah.I could go on about this for an eternity, but the Jewish messiah will be fully human and in no way divine. There will also be peace on earth when he comes, and will be from the house of David, which Jesus is not.If Joseph were Jesus’father then he would be,which isn’t the case. And in NO WAY can HaShem have any human form. How can He die? G-d has no beginning and no end.The Torah tells us that G-d has no human form.He is not a mortal who will change His mind.AND He is one and completely indivisible. And the Torah also states that no one shares G-d’s glory, and G-d stated that He is the only Redeemer.Plus, the Messiah will come one time only.I’m standing by my statement.

“Hear O Israel the Lord is our G-d,the Lord is ONE”. One means one,not 1 in 3.Even when I was a Christian the trinity did not make sense to me and it still doesn’t.We are not to take from or add to the Torah, and when Jesus came, that all changed.

I sorry, I answered you thinking you were an anti-semite "christian".

The Jesus presented by the Roman church is not the Salvation promised by the Tanach.

There are four things that are important here:

1. Miriam is a daughter who has no brothers
and is descended from King David.

2. Joseph is descended from King David.
But he is from a line prohibited to inherit.

3. The inheritance exception granted for the daughters of Zelophehad
(These were daughters who had no brothers)
is in effect (Numbers 26,27,36; Joshua 17; 1 Chronicles 7 ).

4. Joseph and Miriam are married ( each descended from King David)
thus providing Miriam with permanent inheritance
of the Kingship of David for her to pass on to her son Yah'shua.

There is only ONE YHvH.

YHvH promised that He would provide salvation from Genesis 49:18 onward:
See Gen. 49:18; Exod. 14:13; 15:2; Deut. 32:15; 1 Sam. 2:1; 2 Sam. 22:3, 36, 47; 23:5; 1 Chr. 16:23, 35; 2 Chr. 6:41; 20:17; Job 13:16; Ps. 3:8; 9:14; 13:5; 14:7; 18:2, 35, 46; 21:1, 5; 24:5; 25:5; 27:1, 9; 35:3, 9; 37:39; 38:22; 40:10, 16; 50:23; 51:12, 14; 53:6; 62:1f, 6; 65:5; 67:2; 68:19; 69:29; 70:4; 71:15; 78:22; 79:9; 85:4, 7, 9; 88:1; 89:26; 91:16; 95:1; 96:2; 98:2f; 106:4; 116:13; 118:14f, 21; 119:41, 81, 123, 155, 166, 174; 132:16; 140:7; 144:10; 146:3; 149:4; Isa. 12:2f; 17:10; 25:9; 33:2, 6; 45:8, 17; 46:13; 49:6, 8; 51:5f, 8; 52:7, 10; 56:1; 59:11, 16; 60:18; 61:10; 62:1, 11; 63:5; Jer. 3:23; Lam. 3:26; Jon. 2:9; Mic. 7:7; Hab. 3:8, 13, 18; Zech. 9:9;

The NAME of the Jewish messiah is Yah'shua.

NAsbU Psalm 118:14 YHvH is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation.
The Messiah will only come once for some Jews.

No,I am a Jew,and, like I said, the two are incompatible. The only G-d is G-d.He shares His glory w/no one. When the messiah comes,it will be for all Jews.I am interested to know how you became a messianic. You cannot be both.Ask a Rabbi.A REAL one,not a Christian posing as a rabbi.P.S.I was a Christian at one time.I cannot be both,I’m sorry. Shalom.

Is being "Jewish" religious, or ethnic? It seems to me the paradox you impose rests upon your definitions.

Barbara Streisand, a Shabbat-breaker, is considered "Jewish" because of her ethnicity. However, by your definition a person born of Jewish parents, who keeps the Torah, and yet thinksYeshua is Messiah is not "Jewish"? - You have defined "Jewishness" in a way that simply excludes your undesireables - on the basis of what they think (hmm, sounds totalitarian). On the other hand, the Talmud describes how someone who was not born to Jewish parents can "become Jewish" simply by undergoing ritual conversion - and then think a certain way. So what someone thinks is what determines "Jewishness," or is it ethnicity? Is Barbara Streisand, who does not think like a Jew, really a Jew?

Pick up a copy of Shaye Cohen's (a Jew) "The Beginnings of Jewishness in the Second Temple Period." You will be shocked when you learn how pedantic your definition of "Jewishness" is when compared to the history of our people. Your definition has no historical basis other than as reactionary to Christianity. Judaism predates Christianity, it will post-date Christianity. Don't build your house on the sand of a non-existent contradiction.

You said, "...when I was a Christian..." and yet you also said, "...I am a Jew..."

So... by your own definition, you were a Jew, then weren't a Jew, and now you are a Jew again? Will you be a Jew from now on? Who knows?

Were you born Jewish?

I was raised a Christian and converted to Judaism in my mid-20’s. I never went back and forth, nor will I ever. This is my definition.

Excuse me,but I think I know what I am talking about. No matter what BS does, she’ll always be a Jew. But once a Jew accepts Jesus as his/her Lord and savior, they are becoming a Christian. If you don’t believe me about the messiah and the fact that Jesus IS NOT the Jewish messiah, then consult the Torah and read what it has to say about the messiah,or ask a Rabbi. And I’m not a totalitarian, thank you.I am stating what is a fact, not what I find undesirable.Oh,and don’t call me pedantic. I do know what I’m talking about.Have a nice day.

I just wanted to let you know that I am not trying to degrade you in any way;it’s just that the Jewish messiah and the Christian messiah are two very different messiahs. This is why I cannot comprehend how a Jew can accept Jesus. The Jewish messiah isn’t coming to save souls, unlike Jesus. When the Jewish messiah comes he will bring all the Jews in the world together,to be brought back to Israel, and the Temple will be rebuilt. This is why, like I stated before,a Jew cannot accept Jesus.

Sure hope that staying a Jew works for you... remember, CONCENTRATE - you might loose your "Jewishness" if you starting thinking incorrectly.

As for the Torah, please show me where the Torah says a Gentile can become a Jew...
