You don’t need any of that to prove Roberts was a heretic; you just need to open your Bible.

There’s also any historic Christian confession of faith.

You do agree with that don’t you?

I know my Bible full and well and believe Oral Roberts preached some very bad doctrine. You are painting things with a broad brush and are a hypocrite because you will not produce the evidence to prove your points and accusations fully like you challenged the other fellow to do. If you do not you are guilty of exaggeration (lying) and bearing false witness.

Here is one I personally saw. A local sunday School teacher at our church fell under the sway of Kenneth Hagan.

One time he bought a used car but it would not run properly. He concluded that he auto had a devil in it so he spent one cold winter night in the car trying to pray the devil out.

He was later removed from his sunday School teaching position.

Another personal story.

My former supervisor has a mentally retarded daughter. His Charismatic church gathered to pray for the healing of the girl. She was not healed so they called in a more powerful Charismatic preacher who they said would definitly heal her. He came, prayed, and she was not healed.

This caused the man to loose his faith and he became an atheist.

I maybe mistaken but wasn’t Oral Roberts the one, who about 10 to 15 years ago, said he had a vision of a 100 feet Jesus that came to him and said if he didn’t raise more money that God was going to take him home?

Did you miss post #77? Other than that, you’re just trying to defend a charlatan and have a bone to pick with what you consider “heresy hunters”. You have a vested interest here.

Stop trying to avoid the issue and put up your proof. Your response is proving you to be a hypocrite who cannot abide upon the standard you apply to others. Our legal system concerning the accused and the accuser is based upon divine law strictly requires it. If you cannot substantiate your claims truthfully and justly they are invalid. Are you foolish enough to think God’s lawful standard (who is just) for this process is any less? I have no vested interest in defending Roberts whatsoever but the rightness of the process. You however are following a most wreckless and dangerous pattern which is going to blow up in your face.

Are you deliberately being obtuse and refusing to acknowledge the retraction I made in post #77?

“You’re right. I SHOULD HAVE WRITTEN that Oral Roberts preached a gospel that when embraced has helped to financially ruin thousands if not more. You can’t always quantify that back to one teacher (like Robert Tilton) but neither can you exaggerate the destruction the Word of Faith “gospel” has wrought to its’ adherents.”

You are being obtuse andhave made very specific charges which are both state and federal criminal offenses (wire fraud) against somebody that I believe have not been proven in any legal proceeding. You need to substantiate them or if you cannot prove it accurately you better retract them. Get the real quantitative first hand data that proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that his ministry has caused this kind of damage. There is a Biblical standard of substantiating misconduct charges and if you are actively engaging in this activity, you are required to adhere to it like all brothers and sisters have too. You are making public statements on this forum that if they are not properly substantiated can be used against you in a court of law where you can be sued for libel and have severe punitive sanctions levied against you. That is reality and can be God’s judgment or chastisement upon you for not doing things right.

You have no problems with Tilton as he has been investigated by the proper authorities and the charges against him have been validated. Roberts I believe is a much different story,

Oral Roberts started out poor and became rich and died in Newport Beach CA.

He received his reward here. What is his reward now?

To: Not gonna take it anymore

We have no idea and can only speculate. No one knows for sure except those closest to him whether he repented of his sins prior to his death. To comment any further without substantiated evidence is folly.

You are very mistaken! Oral Roberts saw a six hundred foot tall Jesus!

THERE IS A CUSTOM ON FR

EVEN WHEN A LEFTIST DIES to have some respect for the dead.

True, some of the worst lefty traitors get short shrift in terms of respect.

HOWEVER, NON-TRAITORS who have died are afforded respect almost like a caucus or devotional thread.

If you have been around long

AND IF YOU HAVE PAID ATTENTION, YOU KNOW THAT.

DarthVader is right. Start a different thread if you want to debate such stuff.

Celebrating the good of Oral Roberts is fitting on his Graduation thread.

Agreed.

Probably 7/11 was out of cases of decency or some didn’t even stop to try some out for a change.

I’m confident God’s balance sheet on Oral’s life looks quite different from yours.

God, may be quite . . . interested in the fleshly critical judgment tones and attitudes of a number of folks on this thread.

Roberts was an agent of The Lord.

There were no guarantees handed out at his crusades.

GOD CHOSE WHAT TO DO AND WHEN AND WITH OR TO WHOM.

Grandpa’s response was grandpa’s problem. Oral was not responsible for Grandpa’s screwy-ness.

Sheesh.

No. Oral Roberts did NOT preach another Gospel.

THAT is bearing false witness.

ORAL BELIEVED AND TAUGHT THAT JESUS CAME IN THE FLESH; WAS BORN OF A VIRGIN; DIED FOR OUR SINS; ROSE THE 3RD DAY; IS COMING AGAIN etc. etc. all the basic doctrines of the faith.

YOU WERE WRONG IN YOUR BEARING FALSE WITNESS.
