Jews, Muslims, and Christians visit each other in their houses of worship for Multi-Faith Weekend

This past weekend, members of the three largest religions in the world, Jews, Muslims, and Christians, participated in a Multi-Faith Weekend where each group agreed to visit a religious service given by members of the other faiths followed by a time for questions and answers. The goal is to promote "greater understanding, while facing our differences with grace and humility." ...

From Northwood Church's website: "Muslims, Jews, and Christians hold different beliefs about who Jesus is. As Christians, we must maintain our distinct beliefs, yet live in peace with others of faith...

Similar dialog is currently found on Temple Shalom's website, yet no information about the event is found on the Islamic Center's website.

Participants were asked to RSVP in advance and to "Wear proper, modest attire out of respect..."

Northwood Church also asked their members to listen to online recordings of Carl Medearis ... and to "Pray, asking God for discernment and a heart that loves others as Jesus loves them." ...

Syncretism at its worst.

Silly exercise, and futile by doctrine: Each one believes the other to be an out-dated, heretical blasphemy. Islam, enforces this militarily, in the false guise of a religion.

Pure nonsense. Islam hates other religions; specially Judaism and Christianity. Why would I go to the devils house of worship(moske)?

And why would I let him in mine unless he is interested in conversion!

There will be a follow up article and the concept of conversion will be addressed. It seems to be that this is a big first step toward an elongated proselytization.

This is about as effective as Copenhagen. There is great money and power involved here, and how much more beneficial would it be to establish a one world religion. No thanks, my faith is my own and not for sale.

As a participant of this event, this was not syncretism at all. We are not looking to find a “common religion” or mix faith in an ecumenical manner.

The whole point of this event is to get to know those who don’t know Jesus Christ as the Savior and Lord in a respectful, God-honoring environment. Today we had Muslim and Jewish guests attend the church service where they heard the Word.

How else would these people come to church? How else could we witness and minister to people like this if we don’t know who they are and what their needs are; and let them know we care about them?

Thank you for sharing that with me. I have commented on at least one of her articles so she probably wanted to see what I was doing and discovered this event. I thought she had a very detailed well-written article.
