I do think there is something to the Gap Theory. That explains the presence of t-rex and the other mega-sauruses before man came along. There is also the “Apparent Age” theory that postulates the earth only appears to be billions of years old but was actually created looking that way. What does a brand-new baby rock look like? Also, Adam was created as a grown man already, not a baby.
An elephant or hippo fit well with the imagery of the books. What makes you think an elephant or hippo do not work?
Here’s a theory: Dinosaurs were part of the “backstory” God created for the Earth so that he could call one up here. Why make a coherent backstory? So choosing God would be an act of faith, without which there would not be free will. Why does free will matter? Because without free will, there cannot be true love or even companionship, and the universe would be a sterile empty place (possibly even for God).
There are many legends of the behemoth, beyond what a hippo could be.

Great! Now what is being compared to the cedar tree? The tail, or how the tail moves? If it was the tail that was being compared, the verse would state:
His tail is like a cedar:
But no, we see the that the tail MOVES like a cedar. It's the motion of the tail that is compared, not the tail itself.

It is said that not only humans were corrupted but also animals and if that included Animal Giants too then maybe that means the Dinosaurs in terms of fitting the picture into the Bible chronology.
Since they were of a giant size anyway, who says that maybe they were not a result of experiments and by doing so God decided to save the pure animals that we have today of their kind and then along with humans while sending a flood to bury the Giants, be it Human hybrids or dinosaurs.

Dunno for sure. It could be an explanation about the gap between Genesis 1:1 and verse 2. Satan and his horde started messing up things so bad on earth, God wiped the slate clean and started over with creation. Possible.
Some perhaps, but it's not possible that they all did; there are just too many written and pictorial records of them that are post-flood.
