I was on my way out when some of my agnostic ex-Mormon friends began to mock the LDS church.

That's just ONE of the results of finding out MORMONism is untrue.

Taught to 'believe' that ONLY MORMONism is correct; when hey find out it's not, the old teaching is still there, so they do not know WHAT (if anything) to believe.

Mocking the messenger is one thing. Mocking the message is another. Many choose to do the former. They have placed themselves in a position to judge what is and is not acceptable and therefore, try to tear down the posters they disagree with through ridicule and mockery.

That’s a LIBERAL tactic ala Saul Alinsky. If you have a problem with the message, rebut/refute the message with arguments of your own to the contrary.

Acting like a bunch of adolescents with posts that aren’t relevant to the thread only proves you have no valid point to make.

Thank you so much for the lecture on civility and mocking.
I really appreciate it, being a “whore of Babylon” and all.

I warms my heart to know you care so.

I am trying to come up with something regarding the speed of swallows, but I can’t. Yours were very good.

The Fine Art of a "Farm at Night" by John Stenvall gives a bit of humor to the barnyard. Elsie is the one lower left with tongue hanging out. Restornu is the one whistling in the middle. There is a fox and a coyote hanging out as well. Find yourself and report back. Shown at MOMA NYC 1941. A free poster print available if you beg me by private mail.

Your wish is granted. What's in the buckets? Oh, I forgot, Elsie the cow is waiting to be taken care of.

Well, I wish I could say compassion and reverence but alas more like sarcasm and snarkiness.

***so they do not know WHAT (if anything) to believe. ***

Back in the early 1990s, before Madaline Murray O’Hair took her dirt nap, I saw her o the Larry King Show, In her interview, she stated that “The best atheists were former mormons and Catholics.”

I have been accused by mormons of making this up, but I SAW THE SHOW.

They talked about her experiences in Europe during WWII and Ike's affair with Kate Summersby.

Her estrangement with her now Christian son, in which she said there was at that time no hope for reconciliation, but she hopped he had found his “schtik” for making money.

The general state of atheism in the US today, in which she made her mormon and Catholic statement.

I wish I could just wave a magic wand and repeat a few dates in history and erase the results of those days.
