LOS ANGELES – The head of a Roman Catholic order that specialized in the treatment of pedophile priests visited with the then-pope nearly 50 years ago and followed up with a letter recommending the removal of pedophile priests from ministry, according to a copy of the letter released Wednesday.
In the Aug. 27, 1963 letter, the head of the New Mexico-based Servants of the Holy Paraclete tells the pope he recommends removing pedophile priests from active ministry and strongly urges defrocking repeat offenders. The letter, written by the Rev. Gerald M.C. Fitzgerald, appears to have been drafted at the request of the pope and summarizes Fitzgerald's thoughts on problem priests after his Vatican visit.
A message left with the Paraclete order at one of their two existing facilities in Missouri was not returned. A number for the second facility was disconnected.

I think you misunderstand me. I am protesting the lies told about the Pope in the media in regards to the cases under discussion.
The Bishops who did cover up (and a review of the facts show there was cover up in the Murphy case) so I mean in other case did a horrible wrong and I have no quarrel with them paying, canonical, civil and criminal penalties.
I wonder if you are aware of the steps the Bishops now have taken to prevent abuse and to assure it never gets covered up again.
The ones who abused and those who covered up the abuse damaged the souls of the most innocent. And they will answer to God even if the statute of limitations has passed for earthly justice.
Because no Christians are cutting these communist MF's heads off.

Perhaps you failed to notice that the media is currently chasing down 50 year old letters involving people who are now DEAD.
The pedophilia in public schools remains unexposed, is current and growing while this catholic bashing is done not to protect children but to disarm the church from its role in the right to life, in order to protect abortion, i.e. the killing of children.
There is no honesty or noble cause in what the media does, only the death of the innocent.

Let’s try again. The media are not pursuing pederasts currently abusing child right now because they are not interested in protecting children.
The media are pursuing old stories about the Catholic Church because they wish to protect abortion and kill children.

Progressives should conclude that the Catholic Church was a leading edge "progressive" when it comes to gay tolerance and employment. But, look what it got them. I rest my case.

Let’s try again. This isn’t about the media. It’s about the Catholic church reeling from new information related to sexual abuse of children regardless of how long ago that abuse occurred.
Look folks, I’m NOT anti-Catholic! I’m NOT anti-Pope! I’m just sick of the cover-up, lack of accountability and refusal of people to see the systemic problem that plagues the church.
I will not relent in being an advocate for those who have been abused.
This isn’t a conspiracy to take down the Catholic church during “Holy Week.” I realize the liberal media hates all things Christian however this is a culmination of revelations that grow more intense due to the Church’s piss-poor handling of the situation.
California schools don’t have a “Holy Week” or portend to be a sacred, holy religion either...

A Pope who's been dead for 30 years being told 47 years ago that priests who molest children should be removed from office is "new information" that makes the church "reel"?
