I can understand your point, but this does nothing to persuade Atheists to accept Christianity. As a Christian, I see Atheism as a foolish position; however, Atheists also see the belief in God as foolishness. The question before us is there a way of reaching out to an Atheist and convincing him that belief in God is not irrational? People such as C. S. Lewis, Alister McGrath, and Francis Collins were all Atheists before becoming Christians. Finding out what convinced them to go from Atheism to Theism is a better approach than mocking Atheists.

Lee Stroebel (”The Case For Christ”) is another good one. I know with both him and Mr. Lewis, they researched the claims made by Christ as to His divinity, as well as the claims made by the Church. They both came to the realization that the claims were based on truth and they had to make a decision to accept of reject those claims.
It didn’t hurt any that they had loving people (friends & family) that encouraged them along the way.
