“If my own effort to gauge the response of faithful Catholics shows anything, it is that most of the people in the pews will take the implementation of the new language in stride.”
I agree. Those with hearts of flesh who humbly love the Lord and His Church will have no problem.
BTW, the conference and workshop run-up has started. I know there was one this past week for music directors and there's all sorts of information on the blogs. Right now, you have to look for it, but it's there. One thing we all have to remember is that with this translation, so much of what we know is going to disappear and will need to be relearned. Whole Mass settings will no longer have the correct text. Unfortunately, the worst of the lot, IMO, is getting a makeover to shoehorn in the different words (it's not going to improve it). Please, understand, this is not a small undertaking and there are those who are trying to make the transition a smooth one. Just hoping the grenades thrown by the "liturgy is from the people crowd" are diffused quickly.

At minimum, Summorum Pontificum must be implemented in all dioceses. It has not happened yet. Every parish should have at least one TLM.
"deeply threatening reassertion of a tyrannical spirituality, imposed by a high-handed, indeed despotic 'Rome'."
Hmmmmm ... fascinating rhetoric ...
If the English does not conform to the Latin change the Latin. English is the new Vulgate.
