Thus far 58 of 65 Synods have met. The disaster is far greater than we could have imagined in August of last year; for only two Synods of 58 have managed to pass Memorials repudiating the Churchwide Assembly.

This reflects action (or lack thereof...) at Synod level. That doesn't address the actions of individual congregations within a given Synod. Any figures on that?

Maybe the majority of ELCA members oppose ordaining gays, but the majority of people, who attend the synod assemblies, support ordaining gays. Have you heard of a survey, about that issue, among average ELCA members? I used google, to look for such a survey, but I couldn’t find one.
