This is a very interesting and spirited debate. Quite honestly Sungenis is taking Slick to the cleaners, but Slick does a very good job of representing the irrational, ahitorical, everyman-is-a-pope-so-you-can-make-it-up-as-you-go-along Evangelical theology that is so common and popular these days.
I have only listened to the first twenty minutes, but it is very interesting so far. Too bad I have to run soon!
It remained very interesting throughout.
Who’s slick? James White
Not sure my browser is acting correctly. I got a login screen. Is there a direct link to the debate without it?
Matt Slick. He runs www.carm.org
I didn’t have to log in to listen to the debate. I just went to that page and clicked on the video box on button in the lower left hand corner.
When I watched yesterday I didn’t have to log in, either. Their conversation was fast-paced, to say the least.
Mr V: Thanks I did not know that was a real name. I thought it was a slang. I remember several years ago I would go to You Tube. I would type Catholic then get video’s from James White and John Macarthur. Instead of a real Catholic. Since then it’s changed. What anti-Catholic and ant-Charismatic claptrap. I never knew people could read the bible that way. Calvin robots. With no real love shown at least in my view.
What gets me about Slick is how he boasts that he calls people heretics. Who is he to do so? Who gave him authority to do so? He is his own pope and his own Bible and he can’t see how hypocritical he is in regard to his dealings with the Catholic Church.
Got it. Thanks.
and bump..
