Goddess and Mother Prayers Prominent in Gay ELCA Service
Exposing the ELCA ^ | 8/2/2010 | Dan Skogen

Many of you know the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America recently added seven pastors who are gay, bisexual or transgender, to its clergy roster. This occurred at a Rite of Reception service.

Here are a few things you may not have heard concerning this.

1) During the "festival Eucharist celebrating the reception and reinstatement of pastors," (p 4) the congregation recited the “Our Mother who is within us” prayer taken from the Goddess Rosary (read more about the Goddess Rosary here) . The prayer goes like this -

"Our Mother who is within us we celebrate your many names. Your wisdom come, your will be done, unfolding from the depths within us. Each day you give us all that we need. You remind us of our limits and we let go. You support us in our power and we act in courage. For you are the dwelling place within us, the empowerment around us, and the celebration among us, now and forever. Amen"

"The paraphrase of the Lord’s Prayer, 'Our Mother who is within us . . .' is a part of the Goddess Rosary offered at University Lutheran Chapel of Berkeley (ELCA)."

2) The sermon for this "celebration" was delivered by Rev. Nadia Bolz-Weber, who is a "Featured Speaker" at the publicized ELCA "Sharing the Gospel in a 2.0 World" event on August 11-14, 2010. (read here)

3) Much like item 1), they included a number of other prayers (listed below) to a god they call "Mother." (note that the Bible never calls God this name)

"O Sophia, Wisdom and Mother of us all, you are One with many names and images. May we see in all who are gathered here today your multiplicity of blessings. Today we honor your unlocking systems and practices that devalued and demeaned us for so many years and by putting your way of honoring people in its place. Most Holy One."

"Life-giving Mother, you make a home for us in the midst of our fear… …that we may share your gifts with a hungry world:"

View the Rite of Reception service here .

One should also take note that there were a number of ELCA bishops involved in this Rite of Reception, as well as many ELCA pastors.

This kind of thing would not be happening if the ELCA did not support it.

Sounds like stuff you’d hear in a novena for the BVM (Blessed Virgin Mary, the goddess worshiped by so many Catholics). In both cases, an impostor, who can appear as an angel of light, Lucifer or one of his minions, siphons off the adoration due only to God.

They’re trying to “kill” God and replace him with their own made up god. God will not be mocked and there will be a price to pay.

‘Mother’ is probably Gaia...

The Earth is NOT my ‘mother’.

What will you do when you stand before Our Lord and he asks you why you so slandered his Mother?

She is not a Goddess, but Our Lady is the pinnacle of creation completely obedient to Our Lord, these "Christians" just want some PC Da Vinci Code Goddess to worship so they can be "inclusive"

The Evangelical Lutheran Coven of America. Folks, it's become a pagan organization. If you're a Christian, get out. There are a variety of member churches of the PCA, Southern Baptist Convention, Wisconsin Synod Lutherans, Missouri Synod Lutherans, and even the Seventh Day Adventists who would welcome you with open arms.

And the bible NEVER, EVER tells people to pray to her, yet Catholics do it all the time with the Rosary. After Jesus' death, she is never heard from again in all of NT writ for a reason.

It's a slander to Yeshua and an embarrasment to His mother that so much attention is drawn to her at His expense.

The odd thing about this female god they want to create and want to call "Mother" is that none of these folks care to follow this maternal god as a progenitor. They are strangely self-inhibited from ever being a mother or a father. The very fact that they seem to revere unattainable motherhood so highly points to inner conflict and confusion.

Catholics don’t worship any goddesses, sorry. Maybe instead of slandering Catholics, you should reflect on why a denomination named after one of your “reformers” is now this far down the road to paganism and the open acceptance of sodomy.

I will gratefully accept His commendation and accolades for defending the reputation of the godly virgin mother of my Lord from the opprobrium and contumacious slander of those who give blasphemous worship to an impostor who posed as her.

Sounds like they’ve really gone the New Age/Occult direction:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goddess_movement

Rather than having dominion over the Earth, Goddess movement theorists see humans living as part of the Earth environment, and also refer to Earth as “Mother.”

All of which are just as susceptible to Paganism Creep as was the ELCA

Seventh Day Adventists

A quasi-Christian cult

Any denomination with a theology based upon the individual interpretation of Scripture is easy meat for the Enemy. YOPIOS = Heresy, sooner or later. No Pope, No Hope.

The Rosary is how we can reflect on the life of Our Lord, Our Lady never takes away from our love to G-D. She brings people to her Son, like the saints and even regular people who bring others to his worship.

What about Acts 1:26 verse 14, or more especially Revelation 12:1.

But the point is that the ELCA Service is a disgrace to all Christians everywhere and wants to water down the true faith with this New Age crap.

We should always be on the look out for impostors (i.e. this ELCA crap) but when the real thing comes don't place the burden of proof on G-D.

• I left the Church in 1980 and became a Protestant and I often had discussions with my mother regarding praying to our Lord’s Mother instead of directly to Him, like She was at a reception desk saying, ”I’ll see if He is in”. Then one day when we were on that subject my mother came back to me with a story about intercession. It was the story of Jesus, about 30 years old, with his parents at a wedding. Jesus was not ready to publically perform miracles but the bride’s parents were in need of one. The Bible tells us that they went to the Mother of Jesus, to intercede on their behalf. Jesus, at the urging of his Mother did perform the miracle turning water into wine at Cana. Many times Protestants misinterpret the Catholic religion - that we pray to Mary as opposed to pray through Her to intercede on our behalf. That is the Biblical basis and it is a very important one. It was our Lord’s first miracle and it wasn’t put in the Bible by accident. I hope this helps.

Nothing is worse than Paganism Creep. It's been around a LONG time. Since Nimrod, of Babylon fame. He and his followers worshipped the Supreme Father, the Incarnate Female, or Queen of Heaven, and her Son. They had confessions to priests, mystical and divine secrets and mysterious rites.

Isn't Babylon located right across the Tiber from Rome? Julias Caesar became head of the Roman branch of the Babylonian Cult in 63 B.C. Other emperors held the office until 376 A.D. when the emperor Gratian refused it because it was anti-Christian in its idolatrous nature. That's a good thing. It must have ended right there.

But uh-oh..in 378 A.D., Demasus, bishop of the Christian Church at Rome, was elected and from here on Christianity and Babylonianism became ONE. With rituals encouraged, worship and veneration of images, saints, relics, private confessions, penances, scourgings, etc. and one step at a time, became a part of organized worship in Rome..

sounds like Paganism Creep crept across the Tiber and right INTO Rome.
