Three years after 'Summuorum Pontificum' the German traditionalists are still outdistanced by the Society of Saint Pius X which is by far the best.

[kreuz.net] In Germany there are 133 locations, at which the Old Mass is celebrated. The website 'paixliturgique.at' reported on the numbers, which have been published by the organization 'Pro Missa Tridentina'.

58 locations are only celebrated during the week -- without Sundays. That is 43 percent of all the official listed possibilities for participating in the Old Liturgy.

Please pardon, still working on the first cuppa joe. The story seems to favor the idea that the SSPX is presenting the Tridentine Latin Mass more than other, not-specified Traditionalists, who are, in the main, only presenting TLMs during the week, not on Sundays. Am I correct? With the rest of the article’s thrust amounting to a request that the German Archbishops fully implement Summorum Pontificum? Again, I’m not usually quite this thick. I thought that, along with the FSSP (generally speaking), the SSPX were Traditionalists, so the comparison leaves me a bit mystified. Please, if you care to, elucidate, so the thick-headed like myself will gain greater understanding. (not being facetious, honestly)

The liberal Bishops who typically are hostile to SP are the problem. The SSPX is quite resilient in Germany, so the unspoken premise is, let’s get the Bishops out of the equation since they aren’t necessary to implement SP anyway.

Hope that makes sense.
