God can use anyone to work his will. He changed the heart of a pagan Moabite, Ruth from whose line descended Jesus. He used another pagan prostitute, Rahab, to hide his spies. She also became an ancestor of Jesus. He use the pagan Cyrus of Persia to send the Jews to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple. He used a theologically challenged Ethiopian eunuch to take the gospel to Africa.
He even used a donkey.
God can use Glenn Beck, too, to work his purpose in America. The fact that he is Mormon will not stop the Lord. His arm is not too short. If Beck is truly saved, he will eventually enter heaven. However, saved or not, the Lord can still use him.
Yep. A few careers ago, I was a pressman's helper in a printing plant. I worked for a solid gold, iron-clad, waste of skin. Non-Christian, non-anything, really. Ran around on his wife while she was in a mental hospital, morning the death of her father, that kind of guy.
One day, I dropped a small hand-sized metal bar into the press (which was, thank God, not moving at the time.) I felt stupid and panicked. He looked the situation, puffed his cigarette (yes, THAT long ago), and pushed one of two buttons to inch the press forward. The "paper grabbers", tiny metal teeth, picked up the wrench and brought it back to the surface.
In the aftermath, I knew two things: 1) I was the beneficiary of Grace, because, once I thought about it, I never actually thought to pray to God for help. And 2), look at the person God used to deliver me.
He never listened to my witnessing, and I don't know what the state of his soul was after I left there. But God used an unexpected individual to save me, and how stupid I would have been to turn down His help!
