I’m not suggesting Mary was in control of events, other than her free will to choose to accept God’s call for her life. I’m not suggesting Mary wasn’t human. I stated several times she is the greatest human. Eve disobeyed God, sinned first and then caused Adam to sin also. Her sin was greater, don’t you think?

I don’t contribute the crucifixion and resurrection to Mary. I say Mary contributed more than any other human in history to the crucifixion and resurrection.

Honoring Mary imperils no one’s soul and, in fact, leads many to Christ.

In turn, I ask you to consider that your apparent need to minimize Mary is leading you into error. She is more important to God’s plan than your comments allow. If you were to look at her rationally and objectively, considering the Old Testament prophesies about her and her role— and the many places in the New Testament that her role is verified by the Holy Spirit, and review my comments on this thread, you would see that the need to minimize Mary is limiting your understanding.

Thank you, johngrace. It came to me before Mass yesterday and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. I was contemplating the mysteries of the rosary and Mary’s obedience and, like a bolt, I thought, “Really, Mary is the new Abraham.” The more I think about it, the more I like the comparison.

These people still do not realize and understand the true sacrifice that Mary had to make as a Mother Of Christ. She weened him by her breast to already know that her own son was to be slaughtered for mankind. She knew this every minute of the day for his 33 years of human life on earth.

The Simon the prophet told her of this: LUKE 2: 33The child's father and mother marveled at what was said about him. 34Then Simeon blessed them and said to MARY, his Mother: "This child is destined to cause the falling and rising of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against, 35so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a SWORD WILL PIERCE YOUR OWN SOUL TOO."

THE Sword was knowing and then to see your own flesh and blood die right before her. What Mother would want this burden.

Then CHRIST always seeing this Love from her. A mother's true love. So now he is not going to do the commandment of Honoring his Mother Or Father ?Which he has to obey Period=being the sinless Lamb Of God forever. Or he is not the Messiah.
