In arguing that the source of light that created the body image on the Shroud came from within the body, the authors observed that "neither the outside or inside of the tomb, nor the outside or inside of either the front or back sides of the cloth" are found on the Shroud's image. "This means that the source of light does not originate outside of the body, the cloth or the tomb, but with the body itself," they write. "The weave of the inner part of the cloth containing the frontal and dorsal images is note even part of the distinctive images, which they too, would have been, if the light came from anywhere outside the body."

Here’s my theory about the Shroud of Turin. Long ago, an atheist made a joke: “How do you make Christendom look like a parade of gullible idiots?”
The Shroud of Turin was the punchline.

This comment is out of bounds- why not dispute the scientific evidence if this is your position.

Not much of a joke since athheists think we Christians are gullible idiots anyway, with or without the Shroud of Turin.

not sure what being Catholic or not being Catholic has to do with the subject of the shroud. I’ve also always believed the shroud was the real deal.

Instead of insults why not refute their scientific findings? Can you?

Heres my theory about the Shroud of Turin. Long ago, an atheist made a joke: How do you make Christendom look like a parade of gullible idiots? If your theory had any validity, then it would be a simple matter for you or some comedic atheist, to EXACTLY REPRODUCE the Shroud of Turin today.
Can you do so?

Has anything in the bible ever been proven wrong?

I don’t think this is a ‘new’ theory on how the Shroud of Turin was created. It sounds more like acknowledgment that the original theory was true.

Wow.
Awesome.
Has me rethinking my plans about donating my body to the Med School.
I think I would like to remain whole.

Not “practicing” Catholic anymore.
Not to be nit picky but if you were baptized and confirmed you can’t unCatholic that sistah.
But you can not practice being Catholic.
Just my 2 cents...don’t want to start a Dr.Eckelburg/Quix and friends religeous was on this thread.
The colored bold font might trigger a migraine.

Thanks.
Hey the scientists don’t see it as a “Catholic thang”.
To: plain talk
Until the publicity about the shroud a few years back, it was practically unknown to other denominations...but almost all Catholics knew about it. Its been in the catholic church for 2000 years...
To: Julia H.
I would eat lunch with an athiest before I would an anti Catholic anyday.
Better manners. : )
