Think of it as a sibling rivalry on a cosmic scale. No two faiths share so many fundamental beliefs as do Christianity and Islam, yet their adherents often appear to be locked in irreconcilable conflict.

Noted Islamic theologian and scholar Sheikh Odeh A. Muhawesh shared his view Monday at Winona State University of the similarities and often exaggerated differences between Christians and Muslims.

Since both Christianity and Islam are based on Judaism, it is not surprising that they share many more beliefs than religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism or Shintoism. (How modern-day followers of those religions interpret those underlying tenets is another matter entirely.)

Islam is based on both Christianity and Judaism. They were the two main religions of the first permanent cities of the high tech Jewish and Christian kingdoms of the Arabian Peninsula at the time Muhammed and the other Bedouins were nomads.

The Koran incorporated elements of the Christian Bible while denying Jesus' divinity, His death by crucifixion, and His resurrection.

Mohammed claimed that the Bible got it wrong and he was there to set the record "straight".

It is the faith of an antiChrist deceiver who leads the flock astray. His is the only major religion that acknowledges Jesus Christ and yet also denying Him.

Might as well talk of how some plagiarist and the original author "agree on so many things".

Tradecraft. Persona. Deception. Disinformation. Cover: Western operational terms and techniques. But, Islamic terrorists have their own terms: taqiyya (pronounced tak-e-ya) : precautionary dissimulation or deception and keeping one’s convictions secret and a synonymous term, kitman: mental reservation and dissimulation or concealment of malevolent intentions...

Taqiyya and kitman or ‘holy hypocrisy’ has been diffused throughout Arabic culture for over fourteen hundred years since it was developed by Shiites as a means of defence and concealment of beliefs against Sunni unbelievers. As the Prophet said: ‘he who keeps secrets shall soon attain his objectives.’

The skilful use of taqiyya and kitman was often a matter of life and death against enemies; it is also a matter of life and death to many contemporary Islamic terrorists. As so often in the history of Islam, a theological doctrine became operational.

Well, you had to expect it would not be a Christian Theologian expressing such an opinion. Just read the Koran, and you will understand that Islam, which is a cult that is out to conquer the world and not a religion, has little in common with Christianity because on the significant issues, it is at odds with Christianity.

Compare and contrast the life of Christ to that of the pedophile, rapist, murderer, slave-trader, liar, pirate, genocidal savage Mohammed.

Doesn’t look like they have much in common at all.
Yet compare the timelines and events surrounding the Muslim Mahdi and the Christian AntiChrist and it's practically one for one...scary....the Christian AntiChrist IS the Mahdi!!!

Theologian Says Islam, Christianity Share Basic Beliefs

How such a statement could ever be made is by admitting that to the extent Mohamhead totally plagerized, copied, and twisted old and new testament Biblical scripture to create a new Satanic religion based on the belief that Jews were originally given the Word of God and corrupted it, only to have Christians try and correct it, but also corrupt the Word even further, only to be "corrected" by Mohamhead 600 years later..... then I suppose, in a demented and twisted way of thinking about it, the author can say that Islam and Christianity "share" basic beliefs.

What takes me by surprise is that this guy is trying to make it like Christians and Muslims have THINGS in common when we do not.

Libs have been doing that for years, they try to reduce everything to a common denominator so no one culture, religion, language is better than the other.

But we know different and will not be fooled....that is truly the beauty of having the truth and the light in your being.

Amen!

Islam is based on both Christianity and Judaism.

True, but Christianity is itself based on Judaism.

That is why I just do not understand the double standard, of claiming to honor Jesus and then not honoring what this very same Jesus did.
