Think of it as a sibling rivalry on a cosmic scale. No two faiths share so many fundamental beliefs as do Christianity and Islam, yet their adherents often appear to be locked in irreconcilable conflict.

Noted Islamic theologian and scholar Sheikh Odeh A. Muhawesh shared his view Monday at Winona State University of the similarities and often exaggerated differences between Christians and Muslims.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

John 14:6

Nuff said.

Not.

No.

Never.

Consider the source:

“”Noted Islamic theologian and scholar Sheikh Odeh A. Muhawesh”””

If it were the Christian “theologian” stating this, I’d say he was a dumbass.
Since it’s the Muslim “theologian” stating this, I’ll say he’s simply a liar.

Amen.

What takes me by surprise is that this guy is trying to make it like Christians and Muslims have THINGS in common when we do not.

Also the passage from John 14:6 sums it best. Jesus is the WAY to the Father.

Since both Christianity and Islam are based on Judaism, it is not surprising that they share many more beliefs than religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism or Shintoism. (How modern-day followers of those religions interpret those underlying tenets is another matter entirely.)

There is a multi-part 3-hour lecture by Walid Shoebat on YouTube that uses the Bible and the Koran to PROVE that Islam is of satan.

I’ll let you look it up if you’re interested.

This man is using Taqiyya and Kitman. You cannot believe anything that a Muslim says . . . because he is encouraged to lie to promote Islam.

Here’s at least 5 BIG BIG BIG differences....................................................................................................................................................

The deity of Jesus.

Resurrection of Jesus.

The fatherhood of God the Father.

Original Sin.

Substitutionary atonement (they don’t even believe Jesus was even on the cross).

Theologian Says Islam, Christianity Share Basic Beliefs

To the headline: what a frealling moron.

Apparently you don't know that Islam is one of the oldest and most successful of the Christian heresies. If everything Judeo/Christian were to be removed from the Koran, there would be little left. It started out by trying to expropriate the mojo of Christianity and Judaism, the two religions of the most advanced societies in the Arabian Peninsula in Muhammed's day, in order to get religious credibility. Like other cults, to claim legitimacy it posited a connection to the Old Testament patriarchs (in the case of Islam, thorugh Ishmael, son of Hagar; in the case of others, such as British Israelism and the American version, through the 10 lost tribes of Israel) and claimed that the truths about Judaism and Christianity had been suppressed by religious leaders, necessitating the reform by Muhammed who was chosen by God for the task. In other words, without Christianity and Judaism, there would be no such religion as Islam.

I’m a “theologian”, too. My tagline sums up my position.

Compare and contrast the life of Christ to that of the pedophile, rapist, murderer, slave-trader, liar, pirate, genocidal savage Mohammed.

Doesn’t look like they have much in common at all.
