BABY SCAN JESUS CHRISTMAS 2010

Research has revealed that 85 per cent of people agree with the statement that "Christmas should be called Christmas because we are still a Christian country". But it also shows that only 12 per cent of adults know the facts of the Christmas story in any detail.

So if we Christians really want to keep Christmas focused on Christ, we must constantly re-tell the story of his birth in ways which engage positively with the public's interest.

In the 21st century, proud parents-to-be proudly announce the coming birth by showing friends and family the scan of the baby. Our new Baby Scan Jesus poster (pictured left) uses this convention to place the birth of Christ in an ultra-contemporary context.

Details on the survey, please. This sounds like hogwash.

I wasn't polled, but I don't agree with the statement. I think Christmas should be called Christmas because that is the holiday that is observed on December 25. If people are celebrating something else ... Hannukah, Winter Solstice, New Year's, Festivus, Pat's Birthday ... they should identify their occasion by name.

Happy Veterans' Day. Don't forget to thank a veteran!

I have no details on the survey. I only posted what was on the site.

Perhaps you can contact them. I would like to know as well.

. . .only 12 per cent of adults know the facts of the Christmas story in any detail.

Showing that parents seriously neglected their duty to teach their children about the Lord.

My security system blocked the site when I attempted to email them, so I guess we’ll have to live with not knowing more about their research. Oh well!

If someone from outer space arrived on Earth and saw our TV commercials, they would assume that Christmas is for WalMart.

Christmas ads two months before Dec. 25th are too much.

I’m also annoyed to see the word “Christmas” banished.
It’s “Holiday” gift wrap, “Holiday” cards, “Holiday travel,” “Holiday” ornaments, etc.

And Jesus seems to have been scrubbed from Christmas altogether. No wonder this country is in trouble.
