I don't fault this terrorist's lawyers for using any and all tactics to achieve acquittal. It is the job of any good defense lawyer to do this. And if this results in an acquittal, then it shows that our criminal justice system is a good one.
Of course, what should have happened was to have this terrorist be declared an illegal enemy combatant, be shipped to Club Gitmo, and be endlessly tortured until he coughs up every detail of the bomb plot. Upon extraction of all useful information from the terrorist, he can then be executed and his body fed to the sharks.
