Strawman.

The point of the thread and post was the molesting priest who is supposed to be Christ’s representative here on earth. That’s what the Catholic church claims its priests to be, isn’t it?

There are precious few Catholics, two who I can think of off hand, who I have actually seen condemn what is going on in regards to this area.

Everyone else either changes the subject or points fingers and claims, *Oh yeah? Well so and so does it too. What about them?* *It’s worse over there. Non-Catholics have no business condemning the Catholic church when their organization does it.*

Well, if the Catholic church is going to take the position that it sets the standards for moral behavior, then it needs to start acting like it instead of reacting like the world.

It doesn’t matter if the whole rest of the world does it or not. The church claims it represents Jesus to the people. Could you see Jesus doing something like that? Or could you see Him covering it up? Or rearranging assignments to protect the priests?

It sickens me to see the majority of Catholics excuse, defend, justify, evade, deny, etc what happened and the seriousness of it. They’re such great proponents of life when it comes to the abortion issue, but once the kid is born and gets molested by a priest, all of a sudden the victims are accused of being money grubbers so they can buy yachts and take nice vacations by Catholics, FRoman Catholics no less.

well fine, I'll at least be asked to be on the list of FRoman Catholics (nice phrasing, btw, have not seen it used before) who condemn sicko priests and any means used to protect them. I'll even go one further, and say that the yin/yang good part of the Church being singled out for this horrible behavior is that it makes it all the more likely we actually clean this crap up. Kind of like the good side of a liberal media letting their faves get away with all kind of disgusting behavior while exaggerating the misstep of any conservative is that we are better off having less slimy people than the dark side.

Until Rome attacks the issue of Pedifiles within their church...and not dance around the issue as they continue to do, doing only enough to keep the authorities out of the church. Then they cannot be taken seriously that they are addressing this issue..in fact by NOT going head strong to rid the church of these criminals, more and more children will be victums and it that guilt rests solely on the Popes head and the Vatican. Talk is cheap...action speaks louder than words and STILL they protect and further enable these criminals to carry on their assults against children. So where is the outcry from the membership?????? It’s not there.

As I have found, the correct phrase is in persona christi...As I understand it, altar cristi is not in the Catholic catechism...It is 'in persona christi' that turns the priests into Jesus...
