I believe that many Mormons don’t believe it either. They just don’t know a way out.
IMHO this is so true. Many are cradle Mormons; that’s all they know. But I know several that just sigh and shrug when I ask about the gold plates, and concede that it is just Harry Potter 200 years too soon.
The “keeping of records” is also a mind game that many find uncomfortable. In the past it was argued as a way to keep records of one’s lineage. Now you can do the same thing in 15 minutes on the web; its just a way they can keep track of your whereabouts.

Have you ACCESS to an OFFICIAL transcript, or have you placed your OWN capitaliation, commas, periods and apostrophes where YOU think they should go after LISTENING to him speak?
