The Beast of Revelation may not be a man. It could instead be a Religion; the Church of The Beast, The Church of The Dragon, the Synagogue of Satan. The heads of The Beast could be seven major churches or synagogues of this religion; just as there were seven churches to which John wrote. Each Synagogue may represent one of Seven Sins: Blasphemy, Slavery, Tyranny, Power, Hubris, Rage, Evil; just as there are Seven Virtues*.
Each of these synagogues of The Church of the Beast would have an outward agent. Each Sin would have an outward representative. The Agent and the Representative are ONE PERSON. These "Agents" might represent the "Ten Horns" of The Beast -- i.e., the Church of The Beast.
Has the first "Half a Time" of the "Time, Times, and Half a Time"** mentioned in Daniel begun? Is this "Half a Time" the 42 months of Revelation 13:5 ?

No. Time, time and half time=3.5 years. The anti-christ hasn't shown up yet. The key is, he will make a 7 year peace treaty with Israel that will be broken in the middle of the 7 years.

I happen to agree with you. In my experience, Satan does exist and, in his pathological narcissism, he hungers for worship (narcissistic supply it is called) just as does Obama...hence he has his own cult of followers--his own church, if you will.
The members of his church are easy to identify in that in their worship of Satan, they take on his personality, they channel his character (or lack thereof).
As he is a liar (and the father of lies), they too cannot resist the urge to lie. As he wants mindless, conscienceless followers, his church/cult is only too happy to comply. You can identify that cult by its absolute hatred of criticism of itself and the object of its worship. And you can identify them by their obsessive use of character assassination and obloque against anyone they perceive as a threat.
The Church of Satan (however loosely or tightly knit its membership may appear) can also be identified its complete inability to deal with reality up to and including rational thought, logic, and empirical reasoning.

You say you are a “born again agnostic” and yet you take the time to post excerpts of Revelations (one of the most difficult books in the Bible to understand) with your interpretations. You sound like someone hungry for a good Bible Study class to dig into these verses and at least consider what great minds over thousands of years think about them.
Beasts in Revelation are governments. The Mark of the Beast is a control mark that will signify ownership of persons by the “beast” or the controlling world government, and it is on the way. The temptation will be great to take the mark because man will not be able to buy or sell without it; and hunger will be very difficult. This is a hard saying; and we must throw ourselves on the mercy of God and call upon His (Yeshua, Jesus Christ, Yahweh’s son) name to be saved. He (the Antichrist) is also an evil, deceitbul man whose number is six hundred threescore and six, and anyone taking his number or mark is making a choice of the world and the government of man over the Kingdom of God. The Book of Revelation reads, “blessed is the man who READS this book” . . so I read it, and the Lord begins enlightening me spiritually as I read; same is true for all. I believe Ezekiel 38 is around the corner, too, as things are lining up and the battle lines are drawn. In that day, His feet will touch down on the Mount of Olives, just as he left this earth, and He is coming to reign in His Kingdom . .
